I’m sure many in Dallas will love this tag team. And some in Dallas will be forced to take 1/2 the tag team.

Luka & Zinger better be good this year cause the rest of the Mavs looked like Trash against the New Look OKC Thunder Last night!

Most teams wouldn't look very good if you take away their top 2 players.

They're playing tonight.

If KP can stay healthy the Mavs are a playoff team.

They started the game out really hot. Both of them. They're obviously still figuring things out though.

Porzingis looked really good for limited minutes. Luka looked like his normal self. Great body control. It's really interesting watching him use his body to keep defenders away from the ball while he's dribbling and attacking. He has elite level awareness. Missed quite a few 3's and FT's but it's early. He's not the greatest FT shooter anyways but if he could get up around 80-85% that would add 3-4 ppg to his total. For a guy who is about as good as Harden at drawing fouls he needs to tighten up on those freebies.

Exciting tandem. Luka looks just as good as he did last year and Zinger is popping 3's from steph range.

I still have major concerns about the surrounding cast though. Not sure if those 2 will be enough to carry them to a playoff spot in that loaded west. My gut says no. But who knows this year, things seem wide open for many of those lower level teams.

Yeah i hear ya. They do have some decent role players though. Brunson is pretty good i think he averaged 14 ppg the last 25 games or so down the stretch last year.

Curry is basically a sharpshooter. I think statistically he's one of the top 3 point shooters in the league. Which was a glaring hole last year. Besides Luka they had no one else who could shoot from deep.

Delon Wright is coming off his best year. That was a decent pick up.

Justin Jackson is playing well hopefully he can fit in well, looks like he already is.

Hardaway doesn't really fit well. His numbers look good on paper but that's about it. They could use him though with the second unit which is what i suspect they'll do. Or try to trade him. He's kind of a black hole on offense but when he gets hot he can put up 10 points pretty quick.

Then you've got guys like Kleber, Powell, and Finney-Smith.

They definitely aren't loaded after Luka and Porzingis but they aren't far away from being a pretty good team either. If they could get one more player and form a big 3 that would put them on another level.

I love Brunson. He's got that Damon Staudamire fire in him...fearless in the paint and understands the game well.

I never really saw it with THJ, either. He was a scorer and chucker, but that's about it. Just like Terrance Ross. Very streaky though. If he's on, he's on. When he isn't...it gets ugly. But you're right, he'll probably provide that deeply needed quick offense off the bench.

Sad the Blazers let go of Curry. He can cook but plays little defense. Glad he came back home though.

The rest are definitely solid, especially Powell. He's a constant. I think Luka and Zinger will have to be at the top of their games for them to make a push at the postseason. The biggest problem is most of the other western teams also bulked up in other positions, and previously good teams like the Blazers have a very real chance of missing the playoffs because of it.

Going to be an exciting year.

They're incredible together. Could be the most potent offensive duo in the league. But it'll take a little time for Porzingis to feel 100% comfortable again.

Luka is already showing that he's taken a step from last year. Playing ~32 minutes, he likely will be at 25+ ppg. Tonight he had 27 points in 23 minutes. Stroked 3 straight 3s to end the 1st half -- including one from the logo -- and scored 13 consecutive points.

A 7'4 guy shouldn't be able to pick and pop from 25 feet like that. Hope he can stay healthy...looks like he's put on some bulk, but Giannis is Giannis.

Yep Luka played great tonight. Not surprising because he usually plays good. He'll have to average around 25 a game with 8 reb and 6 assists as well as Porzingis playing like an all-star for them to make a run at a playoff spot. The West is just too stacked. I think Luka is definitely capable of putting up those numbers, which would be a damn good season for anyone.

Like i said before he gets fouled a lot. He's good at drawing fouls. Tonight he was 10-11 from the line. The guys who usually score a lot of points get a lot of free throws. 27 points is pretty good. He didn't even play in the 4th.

I don’t think so. Maybe .500 but I don’t think they have enough talent or chemistry to make the playoffs in the west. East maybe

West is so tough they might be able to fight for 8 spot. New pieces, chemistry, young, I agree. I do think Luka with his improved shooting though is scary.

I also disagree.

Those 2 will put up numbers but I give them no chance. I think their roster is worse than last season.

Just making the West All-Star team is going to be incredibly tough this year. There's going to be a lot of good players that don't get a spot. So much talent. Kawhi, and Porzingis in the West now as well.

The game just comes so slow for Luka. Has maybe mid tier athleticism, but he's a master at understanding his defender's footwork and floor spacing. When he's casually pulling up and hitting 25 footers like that, there is really nothing you can do. His jab step-back has that same effect as Harden.
