Interesting. Didn’t the Cardinals hack into Houston’s system to steal data from them a few years back too? Gotta imagine most teams participate in some form of this and the like. Meanwhile the league is probably juicing balls.

There was also something about a photographer in the Indians dugout in the LCS, which they won.

Well that settles that debate.
Now someone tell me how a 36yo Justin Verlander puts up one of the best WHIPS of all-time in 2019... His 2019 WHIP compares to a prime 28yo Pedro Martinez and a 29yo Greg Maddux... ![]() Justin Verlander WHIPs: 2013 DET (30) - 1.315 2014 DET (31) - 1.398 2015 DET (32) - 1.088 2016 DET (33) - 1.001 2017 DET (34) - 1.175 2018 HOU (35) - 0.902 2019 HOU (36) - 0.803 Last edited by TonySpaghetti; 11-12-2019 at 04:57 PM. |

Would love to see the league make an example out of the Astros and hit them hard with penalties.

As a Dodgers fan, this would make so much sense since they absolutely killed Darvish the year the Dodgers lost to the Astros in the World Series. There was already word that Darvish was tipping his pitches...now I question how much was he tipping them and how much more were the Astros doing to destroy him. Darvish had pitched well all year and then gets destroyed in back to back games in the World Series. Never made any sense until now!

Funny how all these dudes were "tipping pitches" in playoff games against Houston.
Probably going to end up with some sort of transmitter between pitcher and catcher. Astros already working on ways to hack it. Cardinals hacking the Astros hack. |

IDK. Their home/away splits weren't really that far off. Still, if they did it, they should get hit hard.

Check out those K/9 numbers as well. Cole is even more pronounced. Cole's age is less suspect, but someone on their staff is a miracle worker! |

I left out 2011 and 2012 because he was in his 20s...
Anyway, those years just makes his 2019 season that much more suspect. His age 36 WHIP lower than his age 28 and 29 WHIPs is just weird... Last edited by TonySpaghetti; 11-12-2019 at 05:44 PM. |

or maybe he got shelled cuz he just choked on the biggest stage in the game...could just be that easy... JV is like 0-6 in the WS or something...he has been pretty awesome in the other rounds of playoffs but has that mental block or something once he gets to the WS... |

lets be honest here...you left it out cuz it hurts your argument...
so because he was great at 28/29 that doesnt count...lets just start looking at his age 30 year...and the only time he ever had a real injury was in the middle of that few year stretch and he stated over time multiple times that the core injury he had messed with him for like 2 seasons....then hey maybe its just the sheer fact that he went from our dumpster fire Tigers squad to an up and coming monster and he is prob one of the biggest competitors in the league and that has given him that motivation that he was lacking those last couple years in DET.... not to mention his mechanics are pretty much perfect for him to be a power pitcher this late in his career...he is not all herky jerky like Sale...doesnt have the violent release like Max...doesnt have the huge hitch like Kershaw... but yea...again...lets not look at the years immediately before those few down years...lets just look at those down years cuz he was now 30 instead of 29 like that is actually a thing |

Astros absolutely walk the line of what is acceptable. This sounds like they blatantly crossed it. Why would four guys lie about it? And why would Fiers go on record about it?
If I’m the MLB, I’m taking away multiple top draft picks over the next 2-3 years and eliminating their international signing pool money for 2-3 years.

I'm exhausted after reading all of that.
You're way more emotionally invested in this than me. |

Sometimes that happens with the greats. Hank Aaron when he was 37 posted his highest home run, slugging percentage and OPS totals of his entire career. Some just have really amazing seasons later in their career, does not mean anything fishy is going on |
