i dont know, i find it more fun as a collector to get a bunch of different Luka's that are cool looking rather than spend the same amount of money on just the one HOLO

not that i have my ear to the ground, but i dont see the image used on Donruss and Optic being more popular then the Prizm image.

also, as i just mentioned, there is Donruss and Optic available for anyone that might absolutely love the image used on that one

so I spend most of my time (and money) on the baseball boards. What's the boards opinions on Luka autos? When it first popped up I read the thread about the speculation of his mom/someone else signing some of his stuff for him and the thought sort of turned me off from wanting to pick any up. But now FOMO is hitting me hard and I would like to pick one up while I can still afford it. What say ye blowout?

Get a nice Prizm silver, blue, blue ice any # version autos are overrated lol

I agree with this.

For prizm parallels, Silver seems to be the standard. Blue Ice seems to be high end premium, and the color variations that match the team's colors are "nice" to have, in my opinion.

I think Luka's Blue Ice /99 and Blue /199 are especially sweet from last year since it matches the Mavs unis.

I don't agree with that. Most, if not all of the parallels have an auto version, from silver to various colors, so I don't see any aesthetic appeal advantage that the non-auto versions have over the auto versions, unless we're talking about sticker autos. So, if I like gold refractors, I would value a gold refractor with an on-card auto over the non-auto version.

The Luka Optic auto RC would have been great since they're on-card as was stated above but with the Luka/Lulu fiasco, I'd stay with something that is more known like the Prizm base/parallels. And unfortunately, Prizm auto RCs aren't on-card.

In general, is there a basketball equivalent to 1st year Bowman Chrome auto in baseball? It could/should be Prizm if they used the same pic and had on-card autos.

Maybe Optic will become that brand.

I own zero autos.

I don't want to be involved in any debates on legitimacy of his autos, anyone who pretends to know which are legit and which are auto-signed (or signed by his mom or whoever) are just pretending. Only items signed in the presence of an authenticator are legit, and that's just not the way Panini obtains autos.

Panini's "the autograph is guaranteed" claim on the card could be construed any number of ways, but it's certainly not authenticated in-person.

Thus my stash of Optic holos. I want to avoid the autograph drama.

Optic already is that brand. The market has just taken a while to adjust to it.

Bear in mind there is no "bowman chrome" in basketball because there are no minor leagues where players ferment for a while, even G-leaguers get 1st year rookie cards.

So it's more like Topps and Topps Chrome.
