Default Phil Hughes Ripping Wax

He has his own channel now ripping wax, pretty interesting. He even pulls an umpire auto!

Love it. I remember when he was a member of BMB back when he was coming up through the minors and starting with the Yankees. He would preview new releases and post pictures from Topps signings.

“A Joe West autograph card? Oh my.”

That’s gold.

Its cool when breakers know who all the players are and even better when they are friends with half of them

That’s pretty coincidental. Tonight I just came across Matt Antonelli (former Padres player) on YouTube and he was ripping wax for the first time in 20 years. Said baseball cards are “really popular right now”.

I love hearing about players collecting cards. Really wish more would. It would be a great way to get younger people into collecting and more adults too. Can you imagine if a superstar did something similar to this?

A recent MVP thought “the 2018 rookie class was pretty studly” and dropped $140K on cards that year:

Donaldson must be licking his wounds on all his Baker purchases and wishing he spent more on Lamar Jackson.

I like that he collects, but I was more talking about opening wax on youtube or at least make videos about recent pick ups and such for people to watch.

That Joe West auto is not bad, last one sold for $31 dlvd this summer and there's none available on ebay or comc. He's good in an infamous sort of way. There's a nice photo on ebay of ole Joe throwing Bobby Cox out of a game in 1981, that would go well with the theme of that box.

Phil I just bought the cheapest one of yours on comc for $6. There's 4 left if the rest of you all want to jump on the hype train before these explode. Get in early.

You were very easy to root for, and always good to the fans. Thanks for the memories! Not too shabby a career, either.

All this time I’ve been waiting for the Justin Tucker Obsidian White auto 1/1 to surface, and Josh Donaldson has had it all along lmao.
