On 2014 draft dray Johnny Manziel to Browns GM Dowell Loggains via text:

"'I wish you guys would come get me. Hurry up and draft me because I want to wreck this league together.'"

Should have been said 4 years later by this guy.

The Ravens in general looking scary good. They are playing west coast on the road against last years superbowl team add Jalen Ramsey.

I've stayed out of this thread because it's a mess, just wanted to say congrats to all the people that believed in LJ and made a nice chunk of change.

Why do people keep talking like you missed out on flipping him? Mahomes prices continued to Skyrocket into January. Then they skyrocketed again in September.

Ditto!

I was absolutely not a believer.

What a year for cards. Luka, Mahomes, and now Lamar. To quote others, "what a time to be alive."

If you bought into Lamar you're probably looking at 20x ROI from the beginning of the year.

So true! New people to the hobby have no idea how atypical this is. Been doing this for 10 years (as an adult) and have not seen anything like this across all of the sports.

Because I did miss out on flipping him? I didn't think he would improve as much as he did as a passer this year and I was wrong. I'm still not a believer long term and feel like all running QBs present a certain level of risk that I'm not really comfortable with so I won't be trying to flip in the short term either (other than the usual thing of buying something that's underpriced.) Didn't come here to threadcrap, was just saying congrats to those who did well with him.

I will say that I had not idea that Lamar Jackson would be this good. I absolutely was and still am a Flacco fan. I am not out to make money off of cards and for those who do, congrats. I am a collector. If I need money, oh yeah, I would sell. Right now, I am enjoying my team winning. I am enjoying watching Lamar Jackson. I just hope people appreciate good football games no matter the QB. Stop hating certain QBs, stop hating sellers...… just appreciate.

If Lamar isn't your type of QB, oh well. As a QB, right now, he is doing some incredible things at that position. If he gets injured, there will be another QB to take is position. How long will he last? Who knows. Just enjoy him at this moment.

I was very wrong about him and I will admit it! He is a monster.

He is the best player in the NFL (right now) The MVP is his to lose.

Is the injury risk still high?--yes.
Is he dumber than a box of hammers?--yes, but who cares, we are talking about playing football here.
Is he marketable?--of course he is. He is must see football, especially when he rushes.

Congrats to those who had faith an bought in early. His prices are nuts right now.

Yes, for the 16th straight football week it is a possibility that Lamar gets injured. Pretty sure people are aware.

Dumber than a box of hammers? Nice... It seems that you care since you felt the need to comment on his off field intelligence for no apparent reason.

I could make so much money on the Lamars that I have right now, but as a Ravens fan and collector, I just can't bring myself to do it. Have a card that I bought for $80 last year selling for $700-800 right now. Another that I paid $100 for looks to be $1000+ now.

What is the point of this comment? If we're talking football, like you said, why does this even come into play? What does it have to do with anything?

Well, at least he has respect for people. You on the other hand, felt it necessary to call a guy dumber than a box of hammers, without having the first clue about him. How did you come to that conclusion? The way he speaks? The color of his skin? Have you ever listened to him talk about the types of defenses the other team was playing? You might not be comfortable listening to him for whatever reason, but he's extremely articulate. Does he use big words? No. But there are 9 types of intelligence, and watching how well he understands the game, listening to how well he understands the game, how he deals with people, he's off the charts in a few categories minimum.
