Post of the day. I took a bath on Melido Perez that year. Nothing changes.

Was he a 3-time AS? That's nuts.

I did know about the King book though and think that's the coolest aspect of his legacy. 11-year old me met him at a card show in Sherwood, Arkansas and got some pics & 1989 Donruss autos.

Despite being a pitcher, I thought he was like Gregg Jefferies, Sam Horn & Hensley Meulens all wrapped up in one player!

Rey Ordonez. So much hype for 767 career hits and 1.2 career WAR.

Darryl Strawberry. Still a lot of northeast collector popularity, but never matched the hype due to cocaine being a hell of a drug....

That’s awesome. I was a pretty big Gordon fan so much so I even wore my hat like him when I started pitching...well that lasted all of one start because I couldn’t see anything and figured it wasn’t worth it no matter how cool I thought it looked. Sorry Flash.

Scott Mathieson.

Cord Sandberg.

Dylan Cozens.

Nick Pivetta.

I can keep going. This is just too painful.

I thought Junior Lake was going to be a perennial star for the Cubs.

So wrong.

Not sure if it was just me wanting him to be good or thinking he was good but James Shields. Basically because I have a game issued playoff jersey of his that's been sitting in the same place on my "desk" for years waiting for him to do something good.
