1) Get back to building sets

I feel like sets are the backbone of the hobby. After seeing Smalltowns Zfolio Binder post I've slowly tried to figure out how I can fill out some that I've picked up with different sets. Generally speaking, picking up stuff like insert sets is a cheap way to enjoy the hobby and also gives you a wide variety of players to choose from.

2) Sell cards that appreciate drastically for no reason

I picked up a TON of Lebron Optics when the product first released and have slowly been selling off those cards. I don't really care to dabble in that stuff and keep it, because I'm constantly thinking about how the cards have appreciated and now that they have value should I sell. I enjoy money, but I don't really enjoy cards that are worth a ton of money just because I don't like to think of cards as a commodity. It takes the fun out of the cards for me.

3) Fill a Zfolio of RJ Barrett Base Prizm RCs

Having said the above, I still like flipping cards to pick up PC cards and this project is part of that means to and end. I also love those Zfolios and would love to be able to flip through one comprised of just base cards. I have no reason for choosing RJ Barrett or anything, but I think it would be fun just to flip through and see 360 of the same card so I've slowly been picking up his base Prizm RC at $5 a pop. They've gone down a bit which is fine, because I'm going to need a ton. Hypocritical of me after dogging those who have done this in the past, but it's just a means to an end.

4) Continue to focus on snagging Jersey #'d cards

I'm someone who will pay up for Jersey #'d cards because I find them unique and an interesting chase. Why would I want a Stephen Curry base Noir card? I wouldn't, but if it's jersey #'d 30/79 I'm interested. I don't care too much for Jersey #'d inserts or parallels just because I find it a bit watered down, but that Jersey #'d base I'll take. I wish ALL cards we're numbered. Give me a numbered base Prizm RC to 60,000 and I'd be happier than ever. I don't know why Panini hasn't done this. I'm a firm believer that any card company should stamp every card they produce, and believe that this is the next "innovation" in the hobby.

5) Try to focus more on my Daughter's Birthday # PC

My daughter has a birthday of March 23rd. Kyrie Irving, Gordon Hayward, and Moses Malone also have this birthday. I've slowly been picking up cards either numbered 3/xx or 23/xx from the above players. No, don't @ me because I'm not paying a premium on this or anything so just stop, but occasionally if I see one at auction I'll buy it. I find this a fun way to enjoy the hobby because:

A) It has a personal meaning
B) The players aren't horrendous
C) It provides a decent chase at an inexpensive cost

I don't have to worry about the cards appreciating because cards of those guys are just going to get cheaper and cheaper as the years go by. Maybe in 15-20 years I'll have a hoard of low-numbered Haywards that I can burn when my daughter realizes how much money I've wasted.

1. Sell off all non-PC cards that I feel have no chance to go up in value. I don't really do the "investing" thing but also think it would be foolish to sell some RC's that have a chance to rise in value.

2. For current Piston rookies, only buy Prizm/optic singles unless I get a can't pass up deal on a 1/1 or on card auto.

3. Pick up Harden Topps RC (been meaning to for over a year) and Melo SP Authentic Rookie Signatures Auto

4. Pick up more rare Donovan Mitchell RC's

5. Pick up a big vintage RC (thanks for the idea smalltown)

my only problem is when i find like 12 cards "cheap" on ebay for a set i love and then having to pay 4 bucks shipping for each because theyre from 12 different sellers... i think since ebay is starting to treat us differently with the Sales Tax then it should start handling the shipping and combine the costs like Amazon does... if we have to pay like "youre the business" then they should ship like "theyre the business"
