And a very special thank you to Joe, Steve and PSA for insulting our intelligence by trivializing all this.

You're pretty good at that. We don't usually get that sort of entertainment from you.

The Mastro affair took longer than that, and as you've pointed out, that was small in scope compared to this. So it would not surprise me at all if this took quite some time. Particularly where new alleged card doctors and potential evidence keep coming to light.

If you say one tiny thing about a questionable grade on their social media platforms, they just instaban you.

I've never seen the CEO of a public corporation so scared of a little backlash in my life. What a coward. It doesn't go away just because someone can't see your posts anymore.

So much for Steve Sloan ushering in a new, more collector-friendly era.

Mr Sloan has ushered in a new more collector friendly era. Without PSAs help we would not have all these high grade cards that did not exist before.

If you had a hand in it ending up on Web Archive, because I have no idea how that works, kudos to saving it for us "forever".

Totally understand the federal side will take time, I'm just looking for any signs of positive change.
Even PWCC (with a lawyer holding their hand), have displayed some minor changes.
PWCC started with telling everyone to Piss Off, when presented with evidence of altered items. Now they occasionally pull listings and offer refunds when notified.

They are an enormous piece of this fraud.... if not the biggest. Their meaningless "stamp of approval" is the biggest single enabler of the fraud and corruption. The numbered PSA Slab is the thing that keeps all of this churning right along. And unless they are replaced with something more accurate/ethical, it will just continue indefinitely.

So instead of looking to PSA to make necessary improvements, we should be seeking a completely new venue (for those who want 3rd party opinions and authentication). Bottom line... Do not be automatically conditioned to rely upon PSA's brainwashing and self-promotion.

I have 100% confidence in PSA's inability to address and fix this problem. And to be honest, I skeptical of any new company improving things much, even if they have the best of intentions.

Sure, measuring cards strictly and having computer databases of scans might help, but I just have a feeling the scam artists would figure out a new way to game the system. I'm also leery of some sort of computerized grading system, as this might make the problem worse. Some collectors might get the mindset that if a card is "computer-certified mint" it must be legit, and therefore bid the moon.

Only at PSA can you remove a card's corner to increase a its grade. And only at PWCC will this yield an eye appeal sticker.

The entire top edge might be trimmed, but it's too close to the bumper in the PSA 8 photo to make the call.

Addition by subtraction?

Love those PWCC descriptions!

I'm telling you. It really looks like Evan used the cheap paper cutter to do that to the 1967 Tom Seaver.

Who is writing these for PWCC? Brent? The levels of irony are beyond parody: "virtually untouched corners." Either that or this is god-tier trolling.

Why buy a vintage card with a corner rounded off by children 50 years ago when you can pay 50x more for a freshly rounded copy?

It’s not even rounded though. It was literally just chopped off. At least Brent sanded them down on the tobacco cards.

Nice gain. This would've been the Chad Thyzel days of acme.cards I believe. One trimmed edge noted due to obvious lack of rough cut on bottom edge as a PSA 9.

I know the answer is probably going to be for me to "read the thread," but has anything major happened after Mathis was banned or Rovell Tweeted about the story? Has anyone created a summary along the way?

Was there something specific he did to get banned? Or is blowout now banning all trimmers?

They’re pulling everything the federal government can use as evidence and letting everything else run. Therefore, if the trimmers are careful, they can still use PWCC.
