Kind of amazing considering that the same card sold for $1k less only a month ago.

There are definitely signs of the market beginning to pick up. Prices are higher now than they were a month ago, and trending back towards peak September prices. Anyone holding out to buy at “last comp” prices may want to reconsider. Today’s prices could easily look like a bargain by the time ST rolls around.

I haven’t been this excited about baseball this early in the year before. I have a feeling I might not be alone.

I think these will continue climbing once football ennds and get into the $90 range during Spring Training. If that happens, we could be poised for an explosion in US250 PSA 10 prices if RAJ gets off to a hot start similar to what happened with Yelich last year. Last year Yelich's 2013 Update US290 were $40-$50 in Spring Training and then got up to $150-$200 (all prices on auctions) in April and May after his torrid start.

I don't think we will see that kind of rocket ship to the moon since the pop report on the US250 is about 9K (still blows my mind how high this number is getting) vs. 2K for the Yelich RC (and it was probably a lot lower last Spring). But it is not unreasonable to think that with a hot start these would be trading back in the $110-$120 range that we saw last year in the heat of the 40/40 chase in August and September.

Acuna is the biggest draw in the hobby. Of course his stuff is starting to tick up. There are a number of reasonably priced cards out there that will see a 3x or more return with another run at 40/40.
