Hey everyone-
Have dug in deep into pre-orders to see if I can pick some potential good ones while still @ 50% cover! Just seeing if anyone else likes to speculate while cheap! This is a completely new thing for me, so minimal incoming (and plan to order on the lower-quantity side; just sick of "missing out" at the shop!) but here's what's been ordered: Aquaman #57 (Aqua Baby born, sounds like Mera goes into Coma as result - powerful kid?!) Spider-Gwen #1 (Figured its a #1 and Spider-Gwen) Currently in my Cart: Strange Academy #1 (lots, I think this one could be big) Spider-Woman #1 Marvel #1 Decorum #1 Mercy #1 Magnificent Ms. Marvel #13 (First App Amulet) Bounty Hunters #1 (still debating) Strange Adventures #1 (also debating!) Anyone else have any they are grabbing? Last edited by smanzari; 01-03-2020 at 05:55 PM. |

I've been doing it for seven or eight years here and typically only post grading orders on books I feel have potential. If you search my history on the boards, you'll see I was right a few times
![]() Your list has the five books I picked for this month.

Nice! Maybe my picking skills aren't that horrible! Seems like this could be a fun venture- do you just read the previews to help decide? (That's what I've been doing but there's A LOT!)

I read the premise of the book, who the writers/artists are, who the publisher is, historical data, competition in the market place of ideas and utilize that with my experience to pick books I feel have potential.

![]() Obviously, Indy's method is the way to go for those serious about it. I'm mostly a PC guy, but I definitely pick up some number ones of titles I wouldn't normally collect. The best of all worlds is when artists/writers I like work on popular characters, but for the most part, it's the work of those specific creators, on no matter what title, that keeps me collecting new titles at all. In that way, there's very little chance of me getting much I feel "stuck" with, should the collector value end up not being there. I get my Previews with my comic order around the 7th of each month, and by then, there's usually some pretty useful chatter on this Forum (like this thread), that helps me to add a couple of books to my order each month. Tip of the cap for that to all contributors here, especially Indy.
