The first sentence!
I just went back and read that.

I wonder who died and made them the expert to add some subjective inference like that. What a baby, all upset because card companies are still making millions of dollars. Baseball is boring! eSports rule! Increasing my kill ration on Call of Duty is way more simulating!

Maybe they should consider putting down the Communist Manifesto for a minute while they wait in a ten hour long line at the Apple store to buy the newest iPhone.

It’s a quote from the cited article. Why it’s there I’m not sure, but they aren’t saying it themselves.

I'm curious which of Mr. Savoy's cards were outed.

For the record: I don't recall hearing of his name in the hobby until this morning.

I see the article it was taken from now. I guess in context it doesn't seem like an attack on the industry as a whole. Rather, more amazement.

Still, like you said... why they chose to pull that quote and put in a court document is beyond me. That in itself is obvious bias to make a case.

I think that’s just what these outside lawyers think of the hobby. <shrug>

You can and will be found.

However, you cannot be subpoenaed as an "expert" witness. You are not technically a witness, so you cannot be subpoenaed and expected to give testimony. You can be retained as an expert and paid to be there.

Default Class action suit filed against PSA, PWCC and Probstein

Prepare to be disappointed. This will be settled.
I’m much more interested in what, if anything, is going on in Brian Brusokas’ FBI office in Chicago.

I'm very disappointed that BODA was unaware of this in advance. While it isn't an absolute necessity to have BODA's help, I don't think there is a group of individuals with more knowledge and drive to unearth the bad behavior that has been ongoing. I would have a lot more confidence in the direction of this case if the people that know more than anyone and would know the right things to seek in discovery were involved.

It's only the first inning but I'd say the score so far is BODA 1, PSA 0.

PSA has enough money and resources to effectively fight this for quite some time. Beckett, not as much, whereas TPGs like SGC would likely go out of business rather quickly if confronted with similar legal action.
Um, the owner of Beckett is very wealthy. In fact Wikipedia says he is a billionaire. I think he can stay in business as easily as PSA can.

He'll just say it's an ongoing legal issue and can't comment on it.

If you mean Greg Lindberg, that's not quite right. He "borrowed" money (billions) from a group of insurance companies owned by Eli Global to finance all his purchases of various business interests. I believe his trial on wire fraud and bribery charges begins later this month. If he is forced by federal regulators to divest, he'll sacrifice the poorest performing businesses first.

Yes, but callers can then ask him to comment on this “steadily escalating issue” that he previously told them not to worry about...

I’ve known for a few weeks Eric was going to submit this. I’ve talked to him, albeit virtually, and he is out for blood. I think he is going to see this through to the end but who knows where it lands.

At the very least, if this gains enough attention, put a dent into Collector’s Universe stock prices.

The entire concept that baseball's tv numbers are down is stupid. Everybody's tv numbers are down. There's been a seismic shift in how the medium has been consumed and the days of people tuning into NBC every Thursday night for "Must See TV" are over. Viewership is completely splintered across streaming devices and on demand services. There isn't a single show anywhere today that even sniffs the numbers something like LOST got 10 years ago.

What you have to look at it is live viewership and nothing gets better numbers than sports, including baseball. Advertisers want to be able to know that their material is going to be consumed at an exact time and not a week later when someone decides to watch the latest episode of that streaming show. This is why attendance may be down at ballparks but you're seeing $20 billion dollar tv rights deals. Live sports is gold. No one records a sports game and watched it 5 days later.

As long as the lawyers make bank at the expense of PSA, then it will be a win.
