-Advocates more for business than the left does and doesn't introduce overly cumbersome regulations at the drop of a hat that smart companies figure out how to get around.
-Doesn't pander to every single minority voice.
-I do believe it's important to have a strong military that is ready to go if need be.
-Not afraid to be proud of the country and not diss it or say they hate it here like I see some of my more liberal friends always cry about.
I am right leaning. I agree with the left on:

Gay marriage: Let people marry who they love. While Marriage means a great deal to me, it isn't sacred anymore to most Americans. I guarantee most families have multiple couples who have divorced.

Taxes: I would be ok with increasing taxes, however only on a condition that the budget was balanced or the national debt was paid down. The government has not proven to be an effective steward of our money. I would rather give money on my own charitable decisions, than give it to the government, especially the overspending democrat party.

That's probably about it. In most cases i really just want government to get out of the way. 99% of the Democrats' policies revolve around getting the government more involved.

I'm just about as right leaning as it gets but here a couple of things I agree with the left on:

-Abortion- There are already enough people in the world. And as a male I have no right to tell a woman what she can do with her body.
- Gay Marriage- I used to be against it wholeheartedly and while I still find the practice itself repulsive they are people too. They should be able to be miserable like all of us straight married folks.

I think that's just about it. While a lot of Dem's have a good heart they don't think using their brain. They want everything to be butterflies and rainbows and that isn't how the world works. It never has and it never will.

A couple of things regarding me personally...

Registered as an independent since 1992.

Never once voted for a candidate who went on the win the White House.

I believe in the right to own guns, but that there are limitations and expectations for gun ownership.

Abortion is not a consideration for me and I'm not a fan, but it's not my choice...it's my wife's. She doesn't believe in it, but doesn't think it should be outlawed and/or unavailable.

I believe that handing tax breaks to the middle and lower ends has proven to stimulate the economy, not the trickle down theory of corporate tax breaks.

I believe that the healthcare system is primarily driven by greed and lack of normalization and oversight.

I believe that manufacturing is dying because of greed and the stock market coupled with automation far more than China or Mexico simply stealing manufacturing plants.

I believe that when we die, we exist eternally in the memories of those who knew us, making the notion of "heaven" uniquely personal to those who knew us.

I believe that there are a lot of truths to climate change being man made, and that if we have to tools to rely upon cleaner renewable energy we should. Understanding that the additional costs would be in investment in our future as a globe.

I believe in term limits.

I believe that all bills should be clean bills.

I believe that our military has long been funded well, and that efficiency is more important than more money.

I believe that companies the shelter their profits offshore through a series of "paper" companies should lose all protections afforded to them as American companies.

I believe in the notion that yes, there is such a thing as "too much" and that greed isn't always good.

I believe that America and Americans are too sensitive as a whole...bit that doesn't mean we need to be inconsiderate pricks to those who are different.

Doesn't matter. The majority of population is in Northern VA is where the Democrats carry the State. They have had a huge influx of foreigners living in Northern VA.

Without government regulation on the industry, banks and FI's generally act as if it's the wild west and allows things like the Mortgage Crisis to occur. Everyone chases the almighty dollar and throws caution to the wind without some type of leash.

I feel citizens should be able to own guns for recreational purposes with proper training, background checks, etc.; however, I don't really see the purpose for civilians owning assault rifles... I have several friends that own them and have had plenty of fun shooting them at ranges, but I just don't see a real need or purpose for them in the general public.
That's because you don't understand why we have the Second Amendment. It isn't in case you want to go hunting or shoot at the club. It is to enable citizens to fight back and oust a tyrannic Government like we did to the United Kingdom.

This is truly the most entertaining argument that there is to own guns.

No loosely formed gaggle of poorly armed dimwits in camouflage will put up anything other than target practice for our military.

Look, I'm truly glad that people train their kids to use guns and to use them safely, it truly is important. However, when you're slinking around your yard in a modified Chewbacca costume as some sort of homemade ghillie suit, thinking that you're somehow preparing to fight the US military...you are woefully unequipped. Mentally, physically and tactically.

I mean, come on. People have watched "Red Dawn" too many times.

Wolverines!!!!!

So you're in favor of civilians owning full auto, bombs and other high tech military equipment. Level the playing field. I like you

If you hide in Idaho AND have rifles converted to semi or full auto then you have a great chance of beating the military. Helps also if you have a stockpile of Chunky soup and lots of TP in your bunker.

Ever heard of Vietnam? Some dirt-poor rice farmers held their own against Uncle Sam. Just because everyone you know ran off to Canada in 1970 doesn't mean everyone on earth is spineless.

Ever heard of 2020? You know, the year?

Ever heard of Qasem Soleimani? You know, the guy who was extinguished from the Earth by an unmanned drone in the sky?

But yeah, a Vietnam comparison totally makes sense.

But seriously, good luck. I'll be rooting for you. I'll try to keep an eye on your body parts to let your loved ones collect them in your favorite dufflel.

Rural Texas. Folks were convinced the end was coming soon and so they pulled my sister and I out of school and moved us out to some land.

My mother still keeps it up. Last time I visited home she told me she had buried a bunch of food down in the woods just in case society collapsed and raiders took all the food in the ranch house.

Military and police would be predominantly on the side of the people, not some politicians trying to destroy America. We’re talking extreme scenarios here.

I do love how it's often the "patriots" who are the ones in wild, kooky plans to prepare to overthrow the government. Those of us who aren't preparing to fight the US military are treasonous.

One thing is certain...my money will be on the Reapers and Hellfire missiles over the plinker brigade.
