I am trying to put together a complete set of these very rare experimental cards that Topps did not indent for circulation. The 1988 Topps Cloth card set totals 121 cards but I have 51. If anyone has any of the below cloth cards, I will pay handsomely. I need all the help I can get.
2 Andy Allanson 4 Keith Atherton 6 Billy Bean 7 Steve Bedrosian 8 George Bell 9 Bruce Benedict 10 Dave Bergman 12 Tim Birtsas 13 Bruce Bochy 14 Wade Boggs 17 Tom Browning 18 Carmen Castillo 20 Jack Clark 22 Roger Clemens 24 Keith Comstock 25 Cecil Cooper 26 Joey Cora 32 Doc Edwards 33 John Farrell 35 Curt Ford 37 Damaso Garcia 38 Tom Glavine 40 Tony Gwynn 45 Ed Hearn 46 Tom Henke 47 Whitey Herzog 48 Shawn Hillegas 49 Kent Hrbek / Gary Gaetti 51 Dave Johnson 52 Ron Karkovice 54 Jimmy Key 55 Steve Kiefer 60 Jim Leyland 61 Jose Lind 64 Barry Lyons 65 John Marzano 67 Don Mattingly 70 Terry McGriff 71 Mark McGwire / Jose Canseco 72 Joey Meyer 73 John Mitchell 74 Jeff Montgomery 75 John Morris 77 Dale Murphy 79 Matt Nokes 80 Charlie O'Brien 82 Paul O'Neill 84 Pat Pacillo 85 Tom Pagnozzi 86 Jim Pankovits 87 Bill Pecota 88 Geno Petralli 89 Eric Plunk 92 Terry Puhl 94 Shane Rawley 96 Ron Roenicke 97 Pete Rose 98 Lenn Sakata 100 Juan Samuel 103 Pat Sheridan 105 Nelson Simmons 107 Joel Skinner 108 Ozzie Smith 110 Jim Sundberg 111 Don Sutton 113 Mickey Tettleton 114 Tim Teufel 115 Gary Thurman 118 Tim Wallach 120 Dave Winfield |

I think I have a complete set, and they are all slabbed. They are buried away pretty deep though.
What are they going for these days? I would want to make sure they are worth my time to look for them. |

I wasn't trying to be funny. LOL
Many years ago, I scanned the cards that I wanted to bury deep so that I wouldn't have to disturb them through the years if someone wanted to see them. I'm not sure that I have all 121 cards, but I have scans of 120. If anyone wants to see one in particular, just let me know. Here are a few I have: ![]() ![]()

Wow. A 1988 Topps Cloth set is quite an impressive achievement. I know of one other person that has one but other than that just finding a person with more than one is usually rare.
I wish I had grabbed a Glavine years ago. That card has shot through the roof. Arthur |

Simply amazing. The '88 Topps Team Leaders Canseco/McGwire is among the most expensive card of either of them from the 80s, and I would be willing to bet 90%+ of the collecting community don't even know what the cloth cards are.

I’m just going to throw it out there since you said this set was buried deep. Would you be willing to sell it? I can go, $3,000 for what you’ve got if you’ve got 120 of the 121. |

Hmmm...
When I bought this set from a guy many, many years ago, I knew nothing about it. He told me it was exceedingly rare. We were friends, so I believed him. My memory doesn’t serve me as well today as it use to. I seem to remember discussing something regarding the Glavine card, but can’t remember for sure. Of the 120 cards I have scans of, Glavine is NOT one of them. I sure feel like I had it in hand back then though. Darned cobwebs are getting thick.

I wouldn’t want to part with these at this time for $25/card. If they are as rare as it sounds, I should probably do some research. |
