The site has been intermittently slow for me from 11am until now. Makes it a real drag to search for cards.

Apparently what is happening is that they found out that I am pricing cards even though the bulk editor is broken, so now the "opposite of bulk is quite the confusing Google search" editor is being tampered with to keep me from adding a 1997 Kevin Tapani Members Only card I purchased in a port sale for 11 cents in June of 2018

Or, and stay with me here

The internet has AIDS?

Conspiracy time. They're purposely crashing their site to stop people from completing their 30 cent submissions in time before midnight. Site will work perfectly fine tomorrow.

I have one that is going on a month late now. So I doubt it has anything to do with that. I am betting ones sent in under the new rates will receive listing priority over the old ones anyway.

No, I mean tonight is the deadline for getting the submissions in for the 30 cent rate before the increase. Starting tomorrow, everything entered in their system is at the 35 cent rate.

They completed my one week current year Select sub on time today. I even got the email confirming that the submission was complete. Still waiting on that email for the previous seven submissions.

I know what you meant, but still they are behind on everything else so I see no chance of that changing.

I bet the ones that go in just ahead of the new change will not get any priority, the submitters would be better off sending in under the new system I think.

I’ve still got 6 batches of around 3000 cards from 2/12 that are no more than 30% done, and 2 batches of around 800 cards due yesterday of which 21 cards posted. Figured they would at least get my last batches done so they could get their full fees but that apparently isn’t the case. Hopefully they will get it all figured out soon as scaling up seems to be a problem for them at the moment. Can’t complain about sales one bit tho. Last month was my best month period and also the shortest. Sending in 6000 tomorrow. I’m guessing those will hit sometime before the Black Friday sale 😆

Sales are good for sure but all of these site outages make me wonder how many sales we're missing out on.

Default SRP

So, where do these "SRP's" come from. They seem to be 2-10 times higher than comparable eBay sales prices. It seems that is just another means to run more fake sales.

What is going on with so many of the COMC sellers using jacked up prices and then posting about the wonderful sales that they are running?

I check out nearly every post in the "SPAM your COMC listings" thread, and nearly all of them are plain old BS. Their sales prices are still double eBay prices.

SWP: Average of first five sales of card to someone else on COMC
SLP: Average of first five sales of card delivered to someone off COMC
SRP: 25% premium on SLP.

Basically, once a card sells five copies off site, it gets an SRP which it pretty much carries with it forever. It should be the last five copies sold, not the first five. So in most cases, the SRP is created before a flood of the items get on site. There are plenty of instances where the SRP of a card is like $5, while there are 100 of the same card on site for 50 cents or less.

Thank you. So, the SRP is basically worthless, yet sellers use these numbers to promote their sales, just like they jack up their asking prices and then have a big sale.

I do have to say that, in your case, when you run a sale, you run an honest sale with real savings. Thank you for that.

Well, I used to run 65% off sales on overpriced items, but switched when they added eBay listings and increased their storage fees on more expensive items. Figured I'd rather sell more cards to eBay/Amazon customers than just try to sell only to people on COMC. When the Bulk Repricing Tool is working, I also lower all my prices like 6% every month or two. So cards just get cheaper over time.
But yes, SRP is effectively useless. When the histograms are working, at least you can see the average sales prices in each quarter, which is valuable.

I was under the impression that the COMC fee was based on pre sale price

If you run a $1 card for $1 and discount it 10% you pay 3% of $1 or 3 cents
If you run a $1 card for $10 and discount it 90% you pay 3% of $10 or 30 cents

So a 90% off ask sale is amazing for COMC

If I send in cards today do I avoid the 50 cent top loader charge. Seems crazy to send in cards in just A penny sleeve.

The new fee while running a sale as of Jan 1, 2019 is:
The normal 5% of sale price plus 1% of original price.

So your $1 card at 10% off nets the seller $1-$0.10-$0.05-$0.01 = $0.84
At $10 and 90% off, the seller gets $10-$9-$0.05-$0.10 = $0.85

So for that, it's a wash. Plus with the high discount, it's quite possible the first one doesn't sell because nobody sees it discounted, while the second one will make someone think it's a deal and has a better chance to sell.

A card gets an SRP after one card ships out. After five cards ship out, the SRP is displayed.

Is this true?

Guess I can 10x all my stuff if they ever fix the bulk editor

Accurate for that example but a little misleading for those who might not understand the fees. In the first example, sale price would be $.90 (you’ll sell the card quicker) and in the second, $1.00. If comparing apples to apples (with the same sales price for both, say price the 10% off card at $1.11 so it is on sale for $1.00), the you will get $.94, so 9+% more off the sale compared to the jacked up price sale.

On another note, just boxed up 6,000 to catch the end of the old rates. Not thrilled with the changes but at least it motivated me to get a shipment in.....

I was kidding, I’m not doing this for this exact reason

I shop all of those high discount sales looking for eBay candidates and have had quite a bit of success
