I did see that part. The discounts are one thing, but I really would like them to address when/if they plan on processing the old overdue batches. Do they even have any plan on dealing with catching up?? That’s all I truly care about. Let the consignors know so they have some piece of mind as to how their property is being handled. I know I can email them......but the last email I sent them January 11th was JUST replied to....on March 9th smh

When do you think we will start to see people liquidating?

Economy looks like it’s gonna get real sketch

Default Well

Well, I'm seriously thinking about dumping my COMC port not really b/c of the economy more so about all the haphazard changes there that have lead me to lose total confidence in that company

I am starting to lean that way. Will be starting a sale in 30 Mins at half of all but about 50 cards. Starting with that and once port gets smaller will start managing prices daily to move everything.

Not at the point of a port sale yet but probably could be there later this year.

I have been running sales the past few weeks. Looking for higher dollar cards
like Aaron and Mays autos and other fairly priced really nice cards. Happy to dump my low priced singles during my 50% off sale to use the credit for the nice stuff.

Plenty to send in to them, but no inventive to do so. Been doing well on sportlots.

My sales dropped 69.7%

I have already sold my port at this point if they decide to charge full price for the late submissions I have. I will just tell them to shove them straight up Tim's arse.

I've got a couple of questions about items stored remotely (I've tried searching previous threads without getting a good answer to this . Leaving aside whether flipping is a good idea in the current market, if I want to flip an item stored remotely:

1) Would I be right in assuming that if I buy and then immediately relist then the item will stay stored remotely?
2) If I mark it as not for sale, my understanding is that it will move from Canada to the US. Assuming that is correct, roughly how long does it take to get to the US (let's assume normal standards - I'm sure it's longer at the moment).
3) Once it gets to the US, would I be right in assuming I can then mark it for sale as a normally stored item?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You've pretty much got it right. But they don't actually tell you it's no longer remote. Which sucks. There's no way to know unless you try listing it for sale. Which is not something you really want to do if it's a card you want to keep.

As far as I understand it, once you've purchased a remote item (Dean's or Canada warehouse), they put it on the list to move to the Redmond location for you whether you have it priced or not.

I don't think it's there yet - people are expecting a check from the government to tide them over. If the shelter in place extends past a month and people start to lose income from their jobs, they will start to liquidate assets. I think the earliest you'll see it is mid-April.

I find it interesting when you get an RFP for a small amount...like $30.

Note - Governor Inslee just mandated a state order which is shutting down any non-essential business. There is some gray are here as to what can and cannot stay open but they have asked anyone that can close and/or work remote to do so.

I would fully expect this to mean that nothing will be processed or mailed out or at least be delayed much further than where they currently stand.

It appears that the order will run from now until April 6th though that isn't exactly clear (may be formally a bit longer than that once it sorts itself out).

I will certainly keep you updated when I know a bit more.

Hopefully, COMC can clarify this or let their sellers and buyers know what's going on.

In a world where almost everything is instant, why does comc take so long to send a paypal payment for pretty small amounts

eBay Vacation Mode? What about the active auction listings at that time?

They will technically be responsible for getting items out by thir stated handling time. However Ebay has stated they will not give sellers defects and will remove the negs any seller in a heavily affected region gets due to slow or no shipping. So they are likely going to be covered all they have to do is pick up the phone and call their dedicated rep and it will be taken care of.

Request for Purchase; it's when someone who doesn't have (enough) store credit makes an offer on a Port Sale.

They may be mismanaged, but I don't think anyone would consider them a Ponzi scheme (in the true definition). They seem to have bitten off more than they can chew at this time, and are not hiring enough workers to process cards, refunds, and shipping on time.
I don't think it's anywhere close to collapsing, but I also don't keep a whole lot of store credit in my account at any time. And if they're forced to close their doors for a month by the governor due to COVID, it becomes questionable for any company in that situation.

That is my question. It does not seem like it is happening yet. I keep checking.

Now that the bulk editor is working again, I'm dropping all my prices - it's not like we can do anything else in Washington state now.
