Default #collectorshelpingcollectors

Times are CRAZY. I am thankful to have this awesome hobby we share with some great people. I try to pay it forward when I can. I have been given MANY unexpected mail days over the years. Life is tough and it really has boosted my spirits regardless of the value of the card (not book value LOL). I have made MANY great friendships in this hobby and I appreciate all the people I have chatted with.

Some members have been great friends to me during some tough times in my life. We would talk about more than just cardboard. Just having someone listen has been GREAT.

Harper is a GREAT man! We chat from time to time and talk about all kinds of stuff. We have become great friends even though he collects the wrong Bull (amirite Ikelove500?). He has sent me MANY mail days without even mentioning he sent anything. Yesterday I opened my mailbox and found and unexpected package from Harper. There was multiple cards for all of my PCs. There was one that made my jaw hit the floor. My kids asked what was wrong. I said nothing and I was just shocked at what I was looking at. I knew Harper had multiple copies of this card. I had even informed him that if he was ever moving a copy to let me know.

I could talk for a LONG time longer on all the great people I have met in this hobby but I am not here to bore you all during this crazy time.

Without further ado…..

Yesterday, Harper killed me as well....with kindness. He had mentioned a little while back that he had some jumbo cards he would send me. He had already sent me one and that was much appreciated. When this package arrived, they were taped together. I looked at both and put them on my desk. I sent him my thank you and thought it was done. Kukocitb then pestered me for pictures so I had to take the two jumbos apart and then BOOOM. Sandwiched safely between them was one of my dream cards for my PC. I can't say enough good things about Harper. This is what makes this hobby enjoyable for me. I hope this inspires other collectors to help other collectors.

Nice name drop (me) LOL LOL Great write up! Harper is DA MAN! He should run for office because he would have the backing of the cardboard community.

Agree with all the sentiments here. My 9-year son (and I) have been the recipients of some amazing cards sent in by members here.

This IS what the hobby is about. NOT prices, not worrying about another junk wax era, not trying to flip cards. It is about collecting what you love, and helping other people do the same.

Thank you to those that do the latter.

Awesome! I am still torn if I am going to get my kids addicted to this hobby or not. My dad and I collected together for MANY years and have many great memories.

Getting them into the hobby, and their subsequent "addiction" or ADDICTION to it, can be separate things.

Also, as a parent myself, I want to believe I can at least keep a true addiction in check.

I did not collect basketball cards with my father. We have other hobbies we share and continue to share though. All good.

Get your kids into passions you have. I think it's a wonderful way of passing on your culture to them.

Great to hear stories like this, thanks for sharing some positivity! That's a really cool card to add to your collection. Your Kukoc collection has really grown from when I first saw it!

I also received a package from Harper today featuring an MVP promo Jermaine O'Neal winner card! I've never seen one of these in person before. Thank you so much!

Glad packages made it to their destinations safely. With the extra time I’ve had I’ve been sorting through some cards and I had a handful I knew would be more appreciated by someone else.

Yer a good dude who is truly into the hobby for the hobby... glad to see that people notice and appreciate it
