I was going to put power rankings together, but things are about to get weird with Ray here. I'll hold off for awhile

This league is a little different from the others, we keep track of prospect rosters in a separate thread, so you'll have to check the FA pool as well as there to know if a prospect is eligible-

Edit- Evan White for my final prospect please. Trammell was taken as well. I replaced him with Austin Beck in the minors thread. I think I'm good now. Sorry about that. Last edited by Ray27Ray52; 03-31-2020 at 01:37 PM. |

Cool, I think we're square. I'll get everything updated this afternoon
Fire is still behind a few draft picks, but sounded like he's working on the front lines right now. Certainly no rush for him Quote:

Know I said I was going to wait awhile, but I'm bored so here's power rankings. This first version is ignoring long term outlook and only ranking for this year
1. Jac- Big fan of what Jac has done with his squad. Offense will be at worst above average with Torres, Olson, Tatis, Contreras, Springer, and a handful of both solid depth guys and guys with upside. On the pitching side, Cole/Corbin/Nola/Berrios/Bumgarner/Lynn is a great group. Mize will be up soon to help out as well. The RPs aren't anything super special between Giles/CMart/Kintzler/Doolittle, but they're decent. I'd expect Jac to be in just about every matchup his this season 2. Ray- It's rare when you have the chance to take over a great team, and deathy left behind a good one. With Acuna, Suarez, Rendon, DJLM, Soler, Cruz, Rosario, and others, the offense will be very good. Same on the pitching, led by Verlander, Flaherty, and Paddack, with depth help from Maeda, Manaea, and Ryu. Hopefully we get to see Pearson this year as well. I like where this team is at, but knowing how much Ray likes to overhaul his team's we'll see if that happens and how much my opinion changes one way or the other. Currently it's a very good team, but a few moves could make them a true dynasty 3. Bam- The ridiculous offense of Trout, Harper, Goldy, Alonso, Freeman, Bryant, Correa, and McNeil is going to keep him in pretty much every matchup. There is a little bit to be desired on the pitching side. Having deGrom and Greinke at the top off the staff is great, but after Syndy went down, the next group of pitchers is Wheeler, Tanaka, Keuchel, and Bundy, which isn't as fun. I'm wondering if this is a sign that the all-star power bat strategy doesn't fully work, as Bam has failed to win a title despite having one of the best records in the league since our start, and he's now without Syndy. But the bats have proven to give him a high floor to work with, plus he didn't name his team "2020 Champs" this year, so maybe that's a sign he'll finally break through ![]() 4. Hollywood- My rebuild is really paying off, as I've accumulated Soto, Vlad Jr, JoRam, Trea, Garver, Sanchez, Stanton, Polanco, and several other bats that will be good helps. My pitching has a few question marks, but if everyone's on, rolling out Bieber, Castillo, Bauer, Snell, and Montas could be a dream. I'm expecting Luzardo to contribute too, and have a number of breakout potential guys in Keller, Whitley, Weaver. RIP Griffin Canning. Having Josh Hader will be fun as well. I'm not perfectly content with my team quite yet, but I do like where I'm at a lot. Top 4 would be a notable jump up from where I've been in the past, but my team has gotten notably better each year, my squad is starting to be create expectations 5. SAF- The rebuild here finally ended last year as he was a surprise finals team despite going 12-9 in the regular season. I really like the offense, with Bellinger, Bregman, Judge, Lindor, Meadows, Ohtani, Josh Bell, Bichette, and more. He's done a really fantastic job assembling those guys. The pitching side is significantly scarcer, though. Losing Severino is a massive blow. Buehler is a stellar arm, but I think currently the 2nd best SP on the team is Mike Minor or Jon Gray. He has 5 or 6 depth guys, the problem is the those are the SPs 2-7. I like the floor his bats gives him, but I really don't like the lack of ceiling that the pitcher have. I think the pitching will need to be shored up if wanting another run at the title 6. Eck- Another pretty solid team that was inheirted- Yelich, Arenado, Rizzo, Semien, Donaldson, Lux, Blackmon, and others create a very formidable offense. After Morton, the pitching isn't as dynamic as it used to be, with Kluber, Darvish, Folty, and Ray all regression from what they once were. I do like Dustin May, though not confident in him getting good innings yet. This team is pretty close with SAF's, I think SAF has a bit of a better offense, but Eck has more pitching options. The two could easily be swapped 7. Gum- The offense has been good for years and should be great again, with Betts, Altuve, Machado, Xander, Brantley, and a few other solid guys. Luis Robert will be another nice boost when he comes up. The pitching staff was stellar early on in this league, but has since way tailed off. Giolito was a big time emergence last year, but there's no sure things on this staff. I'm not 100% sold on Gio living up to what he did last year, and the next few SPs (Carrasco, Stroman, Fried, Lamet) all have uncertainties as well. I think this team has a fairly wide range of possible outcomes, it could finish in the top 4 if the pitching staff exceeds expectations, but bottom 4 if the reverse happens isn't out of the question, though the bats will do their best to prevent that from happening 8. Seth- I don't love the overall offense, but I like a number of pieces from it- Yordan, Grandal, Ozuna, and Escobar namely. I'm not sold on Ketel repeating, but he's a great bat to have. Abreu is solid, Andujar is intriguing, and a there's a few other good names that should allow the offense to be good. But it doesn't jump off the page at me right now. On the pitching side, I love the top 2 of Scherzer and Clevinger. It's a lil spotty after that as the team will need to get a lot out of Civale, Wood, Houser, Urquidy, that tier of arms, to compete with the better teams in this league. This team was pretty close to even with SMTG in my eyes, they can easily be swapped 9. 88UD- The offense on this squad is a little bit weak in the relation to the rest of the league. The best bats are Realmuto, Conforto, Baez, Biggio, and Laureano, which isn't awful by any means, but it doesn't stack up with any group of hitters ahead in the rankings. The pitching is a little bit similar to Seth in that there's a nice top 2 guys (Strasburg and Soroka), but it tails off from there. I like the depth arms here better than on Seth's team (Hendricks, Price, McCullers, Kikuchi, and others), and MacKenzie Gore will be a huge boost when he's up, too. But the offense doesn't stack up right now, and I think without working on a bit of an overhaul, something around last year's record of 8-13 seems likely 10. Homerun- This squad has really fallen off over the past year or two after being one of the better teams early on in this league's history, but that makes sense as HR has been rebuilding. I would have hoped for a few more big names, but having Eloy, Muncy, Whit, Marte, Chapman, Marquez, Gallen, Woodruff, Kopech, and Puk are all nice. It's just not exactly how I would have expected the rebuild to end up. There's some good names here, and I definitely don't think HR is done making moves, though I think it could start to get tough to build up high end long term assets with the guys that remain. For now I have this team at #10, likely will be a bit higher in my long term ranks, and there is potential to move up in both rankings with some more good trades 11. Highroller- Offensively, I like Devers, Kepler, Moncada, Seager, and Adell will be a big help. There's a number of mid tier depth bats that will help keep the offense at a respectable level, but not really anyone else to write home about. Glasnow is the best name on the pitching side by far. This team is really hoping E-Rod can repeat, Reynaldo Lopez improves a lot, and Alex Reyes finally stays healthy. Matt Manning looks to be a solid piece to have as well. Overall there's a lot of work to do on the pitching side though 12. Fire- There's a few high end names on the offense, with Albies and Story leading the charge, plus Castellanos and a few decent depth guys behind, but overall it's a little bleak. There's not much to be excited about in the pitching staff either, with Matt Boyd probably being the SP1. I think this team is in a bit of a tough spot. It needs to rebuild IMO, but at the same time it doesn't currently have a lot of assets that are likely to bring in huge hauls. Gotta start somewhere, though. I think if I was owner, I'd bite the bullet and auction off Albies and Story to the highest biggers, and start what I know will be a multi-year rebuild process

Perspective is funny. I appreciate the ranking but I look at my team and think this isn't anywhere near what I want my team to look like. I'm coming in here ready to blow up a team that could probably contend for the title.

Are these rankings taking prospect lists into effect as well? Or are there separate power rankings for the prospect list

They are taking prospects into consideration, but there aren't many prospects that made a notable difference in those rankings since they were specifically for this year, not long term

Here is my trading block
Team needs: SP, 1B, RP, OF (would only be looking for 1 higher end guy) Team availability: 3B, SS, SP, prospects On the block- some will be harder to get than others. I will note off the bat that Snell and Bauer would 95% only be traded if I'm getting a quality pitcher coming back in return. Few exceptions reserved for guys like Trout, Acuna, Yelich. I'd like to beef my pitching staff a bit (some quality, some safety), so it has to make sense for me if I'm going to move either of them. Obviously guys like Vlad Jr and Wander would be expensive too, but I do have a lot of flexibility to move some bats right now Mitch Garver Gary Sanchez Luke Voit Christian Walker Vidal Brujan Trea Turner Jorge Polanco Wander Franco Royce Lewis CJ Abrams Jose Ramirez Vladimir Guerrero Jr JD Davis Miguel Sano Giancarlo Stanton Victor Robles Byron Buxton Alex Kirilloff Kristian Robinson Julio Rodriguez Cristian Pache Blake Snell Trevor Bauer Marco Gonzales Joe Musgrove Griffin Canning Luke Weaver Jordan Balazovic Franklin Perez I don't really like ever saying anyone is untouchable, but I'm not looking to trade Juan Soto, Shane Bieber, Luis Castillo, or Jesus Luzardo. Would move them if the deal is right, but don't see that as being very likely right now. Anyone else not listed is available, I just may be very particular with what I'd need for them
