This question could be taken two ways- either who would you take as in who are you buying more of, or who you would take if you are starting a team. Just think they're both great questions as it's so rare to have two players advanced at such a young age, in the same league and coming up in the same year, thus forever linking them going forward.
Obviously Acuna has the slightly better raw power, athleticism, and is more flashy, potentially making him more marketable. Soto is a year younger, already with the WS hardware and has much better plate discipline and so leads me to believe his game may age more gracefully. Would love to hear which side of the coin other members fall on, for me it's a true coin flip and I'd be happy with either starting a team. Cardwise, I might lean Soto just because he's currently cheaper. |

Soto, zero question. One has the attitude of Mike Trout and the other of Manny Machado

Can we debate if Luisangel Acuna could hit a Mario Soto fastball instead?

Jeeeez... didn't know I was striking a blowout nerve, was just genuinely curious and there's not a whole lot else going on in the world right now.

Can we put a "you must have 100 or less posts, ever" in order to start a new Acuna vs Soto thread? That way, we can at least blame it all on OP just being a newbie.

Perhaps we should have a thread expands beyond Soto vs. Acuna. Say, a list of 25 under 25, ranked how you think their careers will turn out a decade from now.
Something like this (doesn’t include prospects who have yet to reach the majors, and I didn’t scrutinize it much): Juan Soto Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Cody Bellinger Gleyber Torres Yordan Alvarez Jack Flaherty Bo Bichette Mike Soroka Ronald Acuna Jr. Rafael Devers Fernando Tatis Jr. Eloy Jimenez Yoan Moncada Gavin Lux Shohei Ohtani Austin Meadows Keston Hiura Adalberto Mondesi Ozzie Albies Amed Rosario Victor Robles Franmil Reyes Kyle Tucker Chris Paddack Michael Kopech Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Neither in terms of buying more of NOW (did all my buying of both in 2017-2018)...too expensive...at current prices, there are other players with lower risk and higher margins.

Mike Cameron is harsh. I think he’s Alfonso Soriano, with an earlier start to his career. But I agree that Soto is more Pujols-esque. Vlad is Miguel Cabrera, but with even more power. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

What worries me about Vlad Jr is his body. Injuries are going to catch up with him if he doesn't get into shape. He is way too young to have that much weight on him playing professionally. Talent is there for sure but his body is going to start breaking down especially as he gets older and its harder to keep the weight off.

Both young and exciting should be fun to see how it plays out.

Both Acuna and Soto would be on my potential all '20s team. Acuna has more tools (glove and speed that Soto lack), so a lower risk. Soto is a year younger and potentially a higher peak, but greater risk with less tools
