Default First Autograph Card Pull?

When and who was your first autograph card pulled from a pack? I have just started getting back into this after 25+ years and remember mine, at this time it was great , it was a 92 Harold miner 4 sport auto! I need to look for it...

I wish I could remember the answer, but I can't. The first pack pulled auto that I can remember is a Cam Newton RC Orange refractor in 2011.

In a way... I pulled the Kirk Hinrich from this set out of 1 pack. The card was absolutely mangled inside the uncirculated case. Called Topps and they offered to send me any player from the set that they had in stock - she read off the names and Shaq was the last one she said. I was only 13 in 2003, so I may have passed over Carmelo & Dwyane Wade lol. I sold it in 2006 when I was losing interest in cards and then bought the exact same card back in 2015. It had been on quite the journey since I sold it. It's never leaving me again.

I still remember mine... Out of a retail value box of hoops in 1997... A guy in a suit named Ray Allen on an iconic set called "autographics"... THAT was a rush...

1996-97 Autographics of Bobby Phills, from a pack of Hoops Series 2 hobby pack. Card is still in possession as part of the now completed set.

2009-10 Limited Blake Griffin Jumbo Jersey Auto /49 (?)

First week in the hobby, Blake was big then obviously, traded to a more experienced "collector" for literally chump cards. Some low end Kings base, inserts, and parallels? On me for not ensuring I understanding the market and such before I got rid of it. Definitely a sour start to the hobby though.

My first autograph pull was an Antione Walker skybox autographics rc back in 96. I kept it for a decade or so before I sold it off to purchase other players I was chasing at the time. That is one card I wished I would had kept just for memories.

Was at the LCS with two friends from HS. Bought a few packs of 2003-04 Topps Bazooka. I actually really liked the gum and just wanted some. I just got back into collecting the season prior. I had no idea there were now jersey cards and autographs! lol. But anyway, one of those Topps Bazooka packs yielded me this. We were all in shock and awe. I still have it all these years later and actually never pulled another Shaq auto again.. But I'm quite happy with this one because it's on-card and he's smiling lol.

1997-98 Bobby Hurley Autographics out of a pack of metal universe. Not a huge hit but I’ve still got it.

I thought autos were so cool and I didn't have access to NBA players or anything so I remember being sooo excited to pull an autograph out of a pack of cards. I didn't care who it was. I had earlier traded with my friend for a 95-96 Signature Rookies Autograph card of TERRENCE RENCHER (ha!) just to say I had an auto. I pulled my first one out of a pack of 96-97 Hoops Series II. Autographics of David Wesley. Not the greatest name but I was SUPER stoked! Still have it!

1998-98 SP Authentic SOTT Bobby Phills. Sold his card for $300 after his tragic death. Please don't call me a death dealer. I was young and naive back then.

05 06 Sweet Shot Chris Paul RC AU (this Pic isn't of my exact card) - I thought the basketball type material was so cool... I think I sold it for like $60. Looking at recent prices I'm surprised they're not higher.

My first certified NBA auto was a 96-97 Skybox Autographics Matt Geiger. I pulled it from a box of Hoops from Wall Street back when they had card vendors on the street.

Can't remember my first from an actual pack, but I do remember buying a box that came with a 98 Press Pass set and an autograph. I got a 96 Kerry Kittles...
