Ah, more conjecture. One would think you people would have learned from 2016. Oh well.

Just curious, why would Trump prioritize the capacity for testing when the people in charge of medical decisions like this said we should go on as normal?

Also curious: what else should we be prioritizing today that isn't a problem for us yet, since so many people claim to have known these things in November?

So Wisconsin opened up non-essential businesses, but limited to 5 customers at a time. Which basically means that large places (Kohl's, Hobby Lobby, Michaels and a host of others), it would be pointless to open. Makes no sense as you wouldn't get enough foot traffic to pay for the lights to be on and staffing.

But he did allow drive in movie theaters to open. (Which there are 8 in the state I think).

No but it makes decisions easier when you can actually measure what is happening instead of relying on educated guesses and models. Unfortunately Trump was asleep at the wheel on this one. Shutting the border did not matter....it was already here. Unfortunately it took extra weeks to measure to what extent and where exactly.

So it was already here no matter if we had more testing or not.

Yes. Testing helps to read, react, and make better decisions faster to slow transmission and isolate pockets of infection. Lack of testing slowed our ability to recover faster.

When did you know that we needed to prioritize testing? Before Dr. Fauci?

What percentage of tests would have been acceptable? Enough for 1/8 of Americans? A quarter? Half? Would something like 50 or 75 million tests readily available have been OK? How realistic would that be for a novel virus?

Just another way the lockdown helps giant places like Walmart and kills small businesses

I would guess Fauci knew before me and was extremely disappointed with Trump. Why does Fauci run the country?

Why has Fauci said him and Trump have been in general agreement? And that he dislikes the media trying to create a rift between them?

Why does the guy with a medical degree have more input on how much testing we need than the President? Is that a real question?

So now the theory is that Fauci wanted to ramp up the testing capacity, but Trump wouldn't let him. Even though Fauci stated publicly at the end of February that we should go on with our normal lives. I think I've got it now.

So that still would've left the mass, mass majority of people that couldn't be tested. What would that have changed for us?

So you wanted a bunch of tests ready even though we didn't even know what the thing was. Sounds like a solid plan.

They don't even agree on testing capabilities now, unlikely they did to begin as well.

Because, judging from the stories I'm seeing, it sounds like I'm supposed to be unquestioningly believing dozens of mutually contradictory things about just about every facet of this pandemic.

It’s only contradictory if it’s from the same person. You know how one baseball card collector might like Heritage and another one might hate it? Then a basketball card guy says “make up your minds!”

We knew what the thing was. It was already causing issues in other countries.
