Problem Reward points & Project 2020. It seems most of the sellers of Project 2020 are turning their reward points into Topps Now product as they are useless for anything else. I know it has affected my sales to the point that I will have to stop or join the masses in flipping Project 2020 to farm reward points. Topps sees the up tick in print runs of Turn Back the Clock as it's popularity growing...I see it as adding glut to the TBTC sets. Best fix would be to allow reward points to be used for the product line they were bought with...so each set could stand on their own merit. I know Topps party line has been that the points are only for Now as the main product line and to push sales of the line but as demonstrated by Project 2020 demand is what pushes a line. Don't kill the great TBTC concept Topps...let the Project 2020 guys buy and build up points for the set they care about. Same goes for the rest of the lines. I'm not afraid to hear if I am wrong so flame away...

It's not a bad idea, in theory, but I think that would cause more complaining.
I, for one, would prefer universally-applicable rewards since I enjoy several different product lines. Limiting each reward to within each product line would limit my enthusiasm for my smaller one-off purchases, probably forcing me to the secondary market exclusively for those purchases I currently make direct. If made universal, I'd have a little more enthusiasm buying into smaller-interest lines because I'd get some incentive that can be used elsewhere into a larger interest product like P2020 or TN Future. I think universal rewards would increase overall spend. But to your point, I can see where this hurts other product lines. But is it really a bad thing, from Topps' perspective, to kill off an undesirable product?

How bad will Topps NOW suffer if people aren’t forced to spend their points on that product, and that product alone?
If people can use points on P2020, I would assume P2020 print runs would climb, causing lower secondary market value, resulting in lesser direct sales to Topps, and therefore less profit in the long run. Plus...Topps NOW suffers. I would think Topps would find it in their best interest to not mess with P2020. As for other products, I don’t know. Edit: For what it’s worth, I have nearly 300,000 points built up, and I don’t want the ability to use them on P2020. However, if given the chance, that’s where every single point of mine would go. If you earn points by buying almost anything (everything?) on Topps.com, you should be able to use those points on almost anything (everything?) on Topps.com

Yes! If I could, I would use all my points on Project 2020

The lack of Topps Now options is also a problem. I've been buying P2020 and stashing away my points since there hasn't been any Topps Now cards I've wanted to buy. Until yesterday when they had the WWE MITB autos.

I’ve always suggested points should be used to earn special cards as an option...we’ve pretty much gone down the parallel path at this point for Now products so might as well add another variety to it.

But opening it up to TBT, On Demand, or Living would help for sure |

Yeah, I'm already up there in points but have no interest in anything Topps Now at this point.

Absolutely agree. Silly to be able to build points on any purchase yet only use points on TN products, which currently has very few options.

I thought that Plats didnt get reward points. That was part of the tradeoff for all the other swag they get.
Did they change that? |

I questioned that a few weeks ago in the forum without getting a response. I noticed that Jake has several thousand points and I know he is a plat. I too thought that plat members were not able to accrue points. Don't know when that changed.

Not sure how higher PR’s equates to the “death” of Turn Back the Clock. I’d like to see more auto/relic offerings if possible, but I enjoy the concept of this product. Today’s Banks is sweet as I’m going to go parallel chasing on it.

I have earned a TON of points from 2020. But, I have also used points on TBTC. I used $40 for a Henderson auto and have used about 3 $20 rewards on 5 packs of TBTC cards. I figure for $3 more than what I would spent via a flipper, I get 4 extra cards and a better chance at a parallel.
I would like to see improvements on the rewards program. Would love to have more $ value options. The idea of a special card (outside of COTM) is also enticing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

People have to get out of the mindset of "higher print runs = bad for the program".
Higher print runs means the program is healthy, gaining interest. Low print run often generates high resale value in secondary market, but it also means that the card/program had little to no interest to begin with. They are low print run for a reason...

I would like to use my 100k points for anything on the Topps site. I would also like for Topps to identify a “minimum” requirement for Platinum status. Until then, there should be a tier between Platinum and HOF.

Honestly though, that'd be great. I'll never spend enough to be a Plat, but I'm pretty sure the gulf between what I spend and the HOF guy who spent the least is five figures. Maybe a free surprise card or two or the ability to reserve autos/relics up to 5 times or something like that? I'd love to have our own version of "Jeeves" to avoid dealing with the standard CS team but that's wishful thinking. |
