For a substantial portion of buyers, it's not the baseball player that sells the card. It's the artist. This is a King Saladeen (one of the more popular artists) card with a print run under 1,000. You see a bear on the card. The artist's fans see a cultural icon.

It is clearly not part of the project but he is capitalizing on his project work by creating and selling it. Good for him.

For $100, its worth a shot. I've opened a $100 box of cards before and gotten $10 back.

If you don't think the Bear card is necessary for your collection, pass on it.

If you think the Bear card is necessary to complete your collection, go for it.

Whatever someone is willing to pay for it, that's what it's worth.

It's going to be very hard to be satisfied and content if you're asking people what you need/don't need for your collection.

Sometimes we try to complicate things unnecessarily.

It is made by Topps though. The artists were allowed to make 1000 of a card they designed themselves as part of their compensation for participating in the project. That’s what he chose to make. He’s adding it to the case himself though. Just wanted to help clear it up Bc you seem ill informed with a lot of your posts. Oh and yes it is a cultural icon if you’re in that culture, which clearly you’re not since you seem to know nothing about it/him.

As I said these are 99.9% likely going to be produced by Topps as each artist gets 1000 cards of their own design. I wouldn't consider it part of the P2020 set but I think it's set adjacent.
