I agree.....while it's not a part of the set, it will be associated with it for some. His stuff SKYROCKETS as soon as it sold out (has for a couple years now)....I think it will be more valuable than any card in the project set eventually....

I would never call it a part of the set, that’s ludicrous and just asinine. I agree with y’all 100%!!!!

The part that makes me wanna troll is the ones who say “it’s stupid and has NOTHING to do with Topps Project 2020”. That statement is also ludicrous and asinine.

Plus just think about if he decides to produce like a 10 card set after this point? Since a lot of you can’t see this from the side of street wear/art world I’ll break it into card terms:

This is Saladeens RC. If he makes more cards for his art, this will be #1 in the set, AND is one of his most iconic things-it’s at least his ~current thing right now.

What happens to rookie cards of superstars in our hobby? Saladeen IS one of the top/most popular neo-modern American artists today, at least on the east coast. What happens to card #1 in this set? #1 in living set?

Yeah I was thinking about that. The sketch cards they do currently in some products don't seem that popular, but I think it's because they typically stick to doing photo-realistic art work on those. If they got some of the P2020 artist to do an insert series, and gave them 100% artistic license, that could be a big hit.

Crazy thing is there still might be a chance to buy in "early" PR wise. First card I bought was the Chang Ichiro from Topps and at that time it had the 6th highest PR. Now it's 23rd. Who knows what some of these cards with 10k or so will look like in a few weeks. Congrats to everyone who got in on the ground floor with the set.

After some more read-throughs: The tone from some people in this thread who try to point out others are mad “because they missed out” may need some re-evaluation because on their end they’re coming across slightly as “I finally didn’t miss out on something for once, and now I can be on my high horse and speak down on other people because I’m part of something popular for once!”

Some of the passive aggression might be fun to look back at when this is all over and settled.

100% with ya. It’s undoubtedly a limited edition branded King Saladeen collectible/souvenir made in the image of Topps Project 2020 cards. It has meaning to Saladeen’s fans and those who have gained exposure to him and come to appreciate his art through this Project. It was a great pick up for whoever is interested in that type of collectible/souvenir for sure.

And Alex...of course everyone wins! We’re all enjoying whatever aspect of this project that appeals to us. A glimmer of light in the times we’re in. I believe you’ve earned the “King Salapumper” award and need to get a logo made and printed up on 130pt cards ASAP! You could sell a refrigerator to an Eskimo—that’s got early retirement written all over it!

I think right now its the perfect storm. They are far enough in the checklist so everyone has 5 or so cards and it doesn't feel overwhelming. However, once there's 400, I think it will feel too much.

….and the thing is, anyone can still hop in right now, there are some great buys on EB for stuff that will still rise, imo. Anything under 10k PR, that is currently out there right now is what can be focused on....so even if someone thinks they missed out, they can join now and look back in a couple months and thank this thread, lol.....I think more people on here are trying to help rather than trying to belittle....but there are always a few, it is BO after all
