Opened a fastbreak box that I had pre-ordered from BO. Best hits were a disco variation RJ disco Luka Doncic, the auto was a Cam Reddish redemption. The sell sheet states 3 silvers and 10 discos but I had 0 silvers and 12 discos which I thought was odd. I would have a hard time buying another fastbreak box above the pre-order price. Just my opinion though others may disagree.

I've been watching a lot of breaks and it seems to me that even at 3x MSRP, hanger boxes are a better bet than buying a single hobby pack for around the same amount of money.

Hobby:
Chance at sticker auto
3 parallels - 2 silver (1 silver could be an actual silver/holo) + 1 other color (most likely red, 1 #d in each box)
Sick inserts (especially the stained glass)
15 cards

Hanger Box:
Chance at sticker auto
Chance at image variation
5 parallels (3 blue reactive and 1 insert, other could be silver, green, genesis or #d)
Chance at Genesis parallel
Sick inserts (especially the Jam Masters)
20 cards

IMO, the only wins for hobby here are the better chance at a sticker auto (who cares) and the stained glass insert over the jam masters insert. Aside from that, give me a chance at an image variation and a genesis over the random #'d parallels in hobby all day.

With hobby packs around $100, I don't see why hanger boxes shouldn't also be around or even above that mark.

For what it's worth - I've purchased 2 hanger boxes at $45 a piece - so I'm not trying to pump - just writing my observations and opinions.

I like your analysis. Once the sneakerheads are out of the way on ebay prices should spike.

BO buying them yet?

Been looking all over Targets in the Southern California region and can't find anything. Every Target/Walmart I've been too only has Baseball and some have football but basketball seems to dry.

Has anyone had luck in SoCal?

Same in Northern California/Bay Area. There's a rumor going around that Target employees up here are pretty much on top of restocks. I can't remember the last time I saw anything even remotely in demand.

Which part of SoCal?

I was out hunting (OC/LB/LA) a little last week and every target/walmart was empty or 2 people were already waiting and I didnt get any of the mosaic.

In terms of rarity, where do Silvers rank? Is there an overall chart showing rarity levels of each parallel / insert?

Thank you.

Not much different in Central Cali. I was able to snag some a week ago Friday, but haven't seen any since. Yesterday I drove all over the county. 8 Targets and 10 Wallys later, nothing. I also saw zero Bowman, but found 4 fat packs the day before at one location in town.

If it's dry all over Cali, I think it's just dry, not backroom dealing. One Target I was in an employee was working by the cards. I asked him where are the new releases at. He said he hadn't seen the vendor for 2 or 3 weeks. Cali may be functioning differently due to COVID, hard to say.

Yes that is true. I ran into the Excel rep this past Friday. She had no basketball and she told me California, in general, won't be getting much basketball. The prior week all she had was 3 mosaic blasters.

I can confirm that the Central Coast had stock for two weeks in a row. I know my MJ holdings rep schedule for the most part. But honestly they can change it on a dime. Which they did on me, and excel hasn't been seen in Target around here at all.

The first wave I was pretty lucky because I ran into my MJ rep by chance, because again she changes up her schedule from time to time. So I asked if she had any, and thankfully she had 3 mega boxes. I was more than thrilled because I really thought California was being left out. I'm not someone who goes to Wal-Mart to Wal-Mart. But I went to my mother in laws, and she needed some stuff. So I went in to her local Wal-Mart. I never seen an MJ holding rep here, but today was my lucky day and he had three mega boxes.

So with this past weeks huge reload, my local Wal-Mart saw 5 megas, and two full trays.. I didn't get any!! The lady changed her day! She came in a day early. I got a text from a guy I ran into a few times searching. He seemed really cool, and a collector! So he texts that he happened to check, and bang the stock is there. So I thought we had a deal that we would let the other guy know, and wait for them to come buy the other half. Nope he bought it all and put all the boxes on ebay. Along with some of the singles from the boxes he opened.

I decided the next day I would go to my mother in laws Wal-Mrat to check. The same time I ran into the guy the week before. As I get out of the car the guy sends me a pick for cards he just pulled. He then tells me he bought up all the cards in the local store in my mother in laws town.

He pretty much lied to me about being a collector. I found him on ebay, and he's a big time reseller. Don't trust anybody!!

It's been almost 10 days since we last discussed this....any further thoughts on the pecking order? Just referring to the retail colors.

My thoughts...
Flourescent Pink /10
Genesis
Flourescent Orange /25
True Silver
Silver Mosaic
Reactive Orange
Reactive Blue
Pink Camo
Green Mosaic

Broke 1 mega and 2 hangers! This product is A LOT of fun!! I obviously did better than average but wasn't sure what to expect and was hesitant since I paid secondary market prices for these. But it seems like it was a good decision to break.

The Morant is a variation. The Genesis isn't of the best player but still happy to have hit one. It's absolutely stunning.

Why is Green Mosaic at the very bottom? I know its available in multiple formats which seemingly makes it very common, but its never guaranteed in high quantities like the Reactives or Pinks.

The green mosaic is basically equivalent to the green parallel in Prizm. Widely available in every retail format, and green is never anyone’s favorite color unless it matches the player’s jersey.

Is it possible people don't know about retail? I don't get it. Just thinking about the number of cards...hobby box = 150. 5 Megas = 400.

I’m watching some hobby box breaks, and they would be rough at $350-$400, but they’re absolutely brutal at $700+. I hope nobody is paying $780 from Blowout on these. I’d definitely take 5 megas at eBay prices over 1 hobby box. If I was ever able to find this stuff in the wild (which I’m not), you can literally get like 15 megas for the cost of one hobby box.

Where in Central Cali are you at? I'm working in McFarland/Delano for the week and I'm thinking of going around looking for cards.

What is the difference between true silver and silver mosaic?

I found a Ja that is refractor like (multicolor Reflections in the light ) . That is considered silver mosaic right?

Thanks for your help.

Bako, but on Saturday I needed to get out of the house, so I decided to be a degenerate and go to all the Targets and Wallys. I hit up McFarland/Delano, Porterville, and pretty much every, if not all between Bako and Tulare.

There's nothing, or at least there wasn't on Saturday. If you like 2020 Heritage or 2020 Topps Series 1, you'll find plenty of that.

In So Ca they definitely did two rounds on stocks at Walmart and Target but if you weren’t there right when the rep showed up you were out of luck.

Correct. In all day with retail Megas in multiple over a single hobby box. Some people can't put the thought together what is a better bang for the buck.

Ya, I do think stocks are happening, but backroom dealings are probably rare. I know I missed out on a restock at my local Wally on Friday because I went when they opened and when back about 4 hrs. later. Stuff was moved around and new stuff was sitting there, not a lot mind you, but new stuff.

No Genesis in Hobby either, arguably the nicest card in the entire set.

Also, had Blez on in the background and heard the loud guy mention that they were on Hobby break #46 (they do 2 box breaks) and they had yet to hit a 1/1 out of hobby

The base silver is beautiful, a basic refractor.

The mosaic silver is ugly.
