I like collecting old timer autos. Id rather pull a auto of a player from the 60's or 70's than some no name nowadays. Any who what is the best way to type in e-bay to pull this up? I type in old but reprint old judge comes up lol. Just like this auto I just pulled. It was from retail but I was stoked because it is a older player:
Thanks all (and yes I collect Phillies but I love all old players) ![]()

You might go to cardboardconnection.com and check the Topps Heritage and Topps Archives set checklist over the last decade, and see which players are represented. There are others, but those have the most retired players represented.

You can also do both “name auto“ and “name autograph”.
So many autos have been produced over the last 20 years that even most HOF’ers have inexpensive ones. |

I find COMC can be useful in doing research like this.
For example, I went to COMC’s site and searched John Gelnar. I then selected Autographed under Attributes and found the card you posted. I clicked on the picture of the card and it took me to a page with more details. In the upper left of the page the card is identified as being from 2020 Topps Heritage – Real One Autographs series of cards. I then clicked on that link and it took me to a page where more cards from that series are listed (for research purposes I select to include Sold Out items in the left column). Not all are old timers but there are at least a few of them with no other issued autos. This is probably not a complete list of cards in a series (COMC only has pictures of cards that have been submitted to them) but I find it useful at times. https://www.comc.com/Cards/Baseball/...phs,sc,ot,i100 Then I searched COMC for “Real One Autographs” and selected to only include Phillies and to include Sold Out and came up with these: https://www.comc.com/Teams/Baseball/...graphs,ot,i100 |

A few others have mentioned key words to search for above. Here's a search string you can paste into eBay as-is though:
topps heritage real one (auto, autograph) -minor -minors As people have mentioned, you'll have to scroll through some current player listings as well, but there are a lot of retired player autos out there from a variety of years of Topps Heritage. Last edited by mjwoop; 05-30-2020 at 11:58 PM. |

This eBay search string will bring back an odd variety of retired player autos as well. Some are more recent players, but some are from the 60's/70's timeframe as well.

Easiest way is to get the checklist from somewhere like Beckett. But if you don’t want to pour through a checklist, you can type in Heritage Auto and a team name. They are easier to find that way.

Search
panini hometown heroes (auto, autograph) It will bring up all the autos people are selling from that set, which featured autos of retired players, although it's much more 70s-90s. Because they don't have MLB logos, they sell for less than their Topps counterparts.

Easiest way to find these is to google counterfeit autos. If you’re feeling lucky, call a couple of the biggest, most reputable dealers in the country and avoid the internet.
