Have to appreciate that I am Australian. We are taught nothing about Jewish history or people in school or our culture, there's not one thing I know about their history. I have just learned of the Holocaust and the Jewish tie to it today. Barbed wire is a metaphor for many things. If you read back in this thread I've replied about it multiple times. It has no political/religious reference. Just like Americans know nothing or very little about the history of Aboriginals in Australia and would not expect you to.
Is this a joke? They don't teach you about the Holocaust in school? Do they teach you about WW2?

As soon as you mentioned that you are from Australia, and seeing the barbed wire, it made me recall the movie Rabbit-Proof Fence.

Why is no card coming out the right move for today? The turmoil in our world has been going on for weeks/months.

There really is a deep history to the Aborigine people. Australians definitely try and honor them. One thing I found interesting when I was in Sydney last year, is that when an Aborigine person dies, their village makes a totem pole like structure for them, each one individual to their personalities and life achievements. I thought that was a cool thing that maybe I would like to have done for myself and family members. Lots of history there.

I did think it was VERY strange that they had animal hospitals exclusively for cats.

Bob...you should stop before you embarrass yourself. We all know you like controversy but this topic, on this day isn't it. Show some class.

Is your report an SQL pull using Ebay API?

Nope, right now doing it manually and filtering best offers to find actual sold prices. I'll likely automate later, but right now I'm trying to make sense of how to document.

At what other time could Topps incorporate those things into a set? An ondemand or even packed out products of a direct religion/social issues set is too divisive and is just overall in bad taste.

But, Topps can let stuff like that go in this set and let the artists do what they want to. Pretty much every “final” card sent to Topps has to go back to the artists for legal tweaks anyway. If Topps didn’t want the barbed wire or thought it was too political they would have told beck to change it.

Awesome design Mr. Beck, very well done!

I agree with you. This set is different and it is the artists work so if they want to add something they should be able to.

And like you said Topps can let it slide and not get hit with bad PR because it is the artists card.

What does Topps do if these 5xSaladeen Mattingly never show up? This doesn't look promising.....

Yes, I am Jewish.

Not offended, but mildly confused.

Religion has no place on these cards, period.
JK5 put Catholic imagery in the Clemente.

If an artist wants to put religious imagery on a card that is his or her prerogative.

Morning price update bump. Declines largely due to Baller Ichiro dropping ~$600, and Oldmanalan Rivera dropping ~$500 (down to $400 as of last comp).
Really dumb question but can someone tell me what the number is after the PR? Is that average price?

Think this is huge - might be the bottom we see going forward for the top 10 cards

If you had “Holocaust” on your “What drives the P2020 thread off the rails” bingo card, go ahead and put a bean in the square.

I wish Fucci put a giant set of knockers on his Koufax to symbolize breaking the barrier of the horizontal card design

Its not that he's Jewish, its that he's also famous for sitting out on Yom Kippor. Its natural for a lot of people raised in the west to make that connection.

Rochester Koufax only has 33 items listed for sale. Compared to Baller Ichiro at 60+.
