Will the Griffey card have a gritty sandpaper texture?

Wow that's actually the real card huh? Can't wait to see the PR for that one. Probably 100k.

Rivera would've been a much better subject for the sand motif.

Today's Griffey is a Top 10 artistic for me. Not a single card looks anything like it. Don C killed it with this one.

That would've been pretty sick but too "clean"...rather have a literal "Sandman" destroying something like the Spiderman movie.

It's interesting to see where Don C is going with this set.

Even Ermsy Ichiro that was consistently ~380 a week ago, now has BINs at just over 200.

Don C just brought it w/ his Griffey. If this card would have been in the first 10 released the PR would have been sub 1k. This scares people now, imagine how scared they would have been if bundled w/ the Trout Ermsy at the start?

Ouch, yeah, my focus has been on the sub-3000 print runs. I dont know why middling print runs except the Jeter would sell for over $300. Then again, there were some ridiculous prices out there that weekend.

This is so obvious. I knew one of you already posted it, I am just surprised it was this far down the comments.

My guess is we see a PR over 30k for the Griffey. Even if you don't love the card, Don C based on when many people caught on with the set was the easiest artist set to start. Pair that with Griffey being a popular player and it seems like a good mix.

That's a 1972 print run card with arguably the most polarizing artist and a pretty damn good player. Subtract 146 cards for the autos he did and 1826 are available for sets. I think its a solid buy at $200-$250. I know the Ermsy Trout has centering issues so that could play a part as well.

I think you have to take into account the print run and the fact that the Frank Thomas were just delivered. People are dumping that bought in at that time frame, which is ok.

Love seeing all the split opinions towards today's Don C Griffey.
I personally am not a big fan of the card, but it might be one of those cards that grows on me later on.

2 things will affect peoples opinion about it...once they know why he chose the water/sand...AND the price in the secondary market. But both may come after the fact. Which it usually does.
