I recently reviewed my binder of Kobe Bryant cards I hadn’t touched in awhile and noticed I had a card related to this forum. Specifically the Kobe Bryant Startingfive Hoops 1998 numbered 3 of 5. I have the exact same serial number on the front of the card as the listing on Ebay currently.

That's a question for PSA and BGS... they either don't know how to spot them, or don't care.

Any reason to believe they have started to fake Jordan Thunder and Lightning? I feel like I've been seeing more listed lately, when before they seemed to pop up less frequently (perhaps just the Last Dance). I don't have any specifc reason to suspect, but I know other foil inserts have been faked before.

I don't think so. The back of those has that unique patter to the foil that looks like it's damaged. I haven't seen a consistency in that pattern amongst the copies showing up.

Yikes, a fake Jordan PM sold on the bay for $1600+ a few days ago (Probstein). Two more are currently listed... I wonder how many of these things are out there in totality.

They aren’t the only ones. I just got reimbursed by psa for same issue.

The slabs in this thread are not fake. PSA and BGS are consistently grading fake cards.

It’s somewhat comical (or sad) to even ask this, but would it make sense to send PSA / BGS / SGC the “identifiers” on these counterfeits? It’s at the point where I can spot the the fake Jordan PMs from a mile away, so I don’t see how they can’t.

I've shared with both in the past. PSA was interested and for a time I thought they had a handle on it, but they've continued to grade forgeries since then. BGS was never interested in hearing about it to begin with.
