The virus has become an emotional decision for people who watch / listen people who are uninformed and who deal in fear (Rush, Tucker, Laura, Hannity - et al)

The right wants to go after the villain (Fauci) because he was wishy washy and what he said 4 months ago is different today - its called learning about this virus!

The same people who want to vilify Fauci are the same people defending Trump for saying the virus would disappear (and more)

The virus response has always been about politics and the election. Even when states shut down - they opened and did not follow the cdc guidelines.

The rally cry from the right was "the economy - the economy" well, to get the economy running back to the way it was we needed to have the virus under control - and we failed - miserably.

For anyone who wants to ask me - I do watch Fox news opinion hosts and see Hannity finally said to wear a mask - but Laura -..... she is off her damn rocker.

Further, I love the Fox News Lawyer defense of Tucker Carlson, in court - that he doesn't have to tell the truth because he is an opinion personality..... yet he and the other 2 people are advertised without ever saying they are opinion hosts......

Agree with this. I don't know how someone can't look at the entire situation and think 'this isn't political. It shouldn't be. But it is.

Whatever stat has the most impact during a given week is the one that is focused on. Depending on what week we were at it has moved from hospital capacity, high risk patients, test rate, death rate, percent of hospitalization and now cases. Give it a couple weeks and there will be some other stat that can be focused on in the media.

If everything was looked at the same way since the beginning with the same data points and same discussion, I might feel differently. That includes if the media would have said the same thing about the protests that they said about the conservative ones (that they were reckless in a pandemic. As a note, that is not my thought and I've stated that if you were against the lockdown protests then you need to be mindful because at some point you will need to support a protest you believe in so, you can't use the 'OMG It's a pandemic' narrative). But, that isn't the case so I don't believe a word coming out of anyone's mouth at this point. Left/Right/Scientists/Media.

As you should. Trump isn't an expert. And Fauci is one expert out of thousands.

Most of who, only the ones I've heard of course, have said the same as Fauci. I'd think that we can slow the rate if we try hard enough but I don't see that happening.

According to The Democrat, the rally at Mount Rushmore on July 4th is a celebration of white supremacy. So whatever you do, DO NOT celebrate on the 4th of July. Don’t be a racist, white supremacist.

Pretty bold statement considering this statement from yesterday:

The death rate will continue to drop, there's so many more treatments and things doctors are doing to help that that they didnt have 3 months ago.

I absolutely agree with you and as time passes - we will learn even more.

What is of a concern now is - if there is a surge in cases that show symptoms, they may not die but will need hospital care.

This has the potential of stretching our providers thin.... we will have to wait and see what happens in the coming weeks.

I agree with this to a degree. The media specifically has done a poor job of reporting on all the key stats consistently. Cases, hospitalization, and deaths all need to be discussed. Obviously there is a progression of these things starting with cases and the lag in reporting can often cause a false sense of security. The other thing that bothers me is how every State reports differently. Reporting should be standardized for a pandemic. Governors on both sides redefining the data to meet their agenda does not help anyone.

That's why the CDC should be handling this.

I shouldn’t be surprised that so many kids are sheep, but it is still disheartening.

That's what we were told in the beginning and then a vast majority of hospitals were never close to capacity and many sat nearly empty.

Regardless of your beliefs, and I mean seriously keep your leanings out of the equation, how many of you would dare go out in public with a MAGA hat opposed to a BLM hat?

The Left: Brush your teeth after every meal, unless you’re worried you’ll be called a racist. In that case, don’t brush your teeth. PS - you’re probably a racist anyway.

The Right: Well if they’re not going to brush their teeth, neither am I. PS - I wasn’t brushing my teeth anyway.

Tennessee: what do you mean by brushing your teeth?

I would and I have worn my MAGA hat tons of places.

I’ve paired it with my Williamson County Black Democrats shirt.

There are reports that Trump will not seek reelection (which I do not see happening) but I think there might be some value with Pence or Haley.

I got with Joe at +6500 and +1500 and Pence at +5000 (If I remember correctly).
At these odds, here are my pics:
I still see don't see Trump to be that much of an underdog, if an underdog at all. This could be a biased opinion, but it is a total wild card. I think the debates could be a disaster either way.
Kamala Harris I think has the chance to be the potential president (hear me out)- she is a woman, a minority, and a neoliberal. In a time where BLM is out for muh racial justice and equity (not equality). The average dem today will do anything to bend the knee to not seem racist. Lets see if Joe steps downs due to 'health concerns' to shoe horn her in. That is my tin foil hat betting take.

Neither. Both them are asking for a fight and willingly so. Both use divisive rhetoric but neither side will admit it.

MAGA hat for me. 30 minutes east or west, I’d switch to BLM.
