For the record,

The reason there is 8 games being played is because the NBA does not lock in the local tv contract money unless 8 more games is played by NBA for their overall season.

It's like good but more biblical. I'm serious, I'm in.

Need a Bakers dozen to offset or contribute to my upcoming Dak losses.

This ^^^

I remember when Vince Carter played in the frigid wastelands of the north. His Vinsanity years made his cards the most desirable in the hobby. He was the hottest ticket on the road. Sports popular and hobby popular can transcend the player’s city if they continue to amaze.

Zion has that potential to make that jaw dropping, human defying play several times a night. He can create that craze Vince did many aeons ago.

Vince ALMOST turned Toronto into a destination hub. However, unfortunately the metric system made it difficult to raise kids up there. Zion already has good pieces around him and can truly attract stars to his destination turning them into potential contenders.

I can see that BI didn't spend the time off pumping up those quads.

Great points.

Except that metric system BS
Why would it make it hard to raise kids? It's a far superior system. Ha ha

You sure that wasn't Drake and his Degrassi goons' fault?

God I'm praying Zion stays healthy. I think that's his only real potential barrier to greatness. It's almost the perfect storm with Brees soon to be on his way out. Tonedfatboi's getting the keys to the city.

Never, Drake deserves a knighthood for all his contributions for Canadian society.

LOL on tonedfatboi, what does poor Zion have to do to get you to drop the #fatboi tag

But imagine the new age of basketball, Zion’s unparalleled athleticism vs Luka’s unparalleled skill. I am truly excited as a basketball fan with the rising talent of several new megastars.

Forget the injury concerns for now, he will give us 3+ years of insane basketball and make the city of NO forget the name Brees.

Comparing ppg to the past is a joke the way the NBA is played now.

PSA 10 prizm just keep rising, I wouldn't be surprised to see a nice increase once again come the Last week of July before the NBA starts.

That was a joke right? lol. Its a mix of taxes and talent that is not knowledgeable of the city that keeps most players away. Always fun to read the players tribune after a player has played in Toronto and they describe their departure from it.

Jordan averaged 36ppg in the 80's with for all intents and purposes no three point line. Defense wasn't as stiff back then as people make it out to seem.

Shaquille O'neal would be a decent comparison IMO but obviously they are different players. I do see a level of dominance in Zion that reminds me a lot of Shaq. Just bigger and stronger than everyone at a young age.

Pace in the early and mid 80s was insane. Look up all the teams that averaged 110 or 115 ppg. Like you mentioned, nobody could make 3s and they were still hitting 120-130 regularly.

Yikes...he's definitely ripped! On a highly positive note for him he dropped some fat, but he really should consider slowing down on the muscle growth. The muscles look great, but are an enemy in endurance sports due to requiring more oxygen and draining your gas tank insanely fast with the rush of lactic acid.

I'd feel much more comfortable as an investor if he spent less time weight training and more time working on creating and consistently hitting free throw line jumpers.

But, you can't deny that he's got an incredibly high ceiling and is one of the most exciting players in the league to watch.

According to reports...all he's been doing is working on his shooting during covid downtime when he's not in the weight room.

But yeah....I've been a proponent of him focusing on yoga and core strength training/calisthenics as opposed to weights since his injury. Then again, I'm not a team doctor nor do I know much about the sports science discipline.

My guess is they're trying to strike a balance right now between weight loss whilst maintaining his massive power/explosiveness advantages. Dude is the embodiment of a mesomorph, so I'd imagine it's quite a challenge since he can shift forms in the blink of an eye.

But eventually, his body'll need to get on that lean mass Lebron path to prolong his career. Not exactly an emergency situation as a soon to be 20 year old. He's got time.
