Default CGC hiriing sports card graders ?

Hello everyone,

So what do you think ? CGC will be the 4th big grader ? They do well in comics but how about card grading ?

Thoughts ? Opinions ?

Guessing those labels are a work in progress. The samples they have for gaming are different and have subgrades.

They need dimensions on the label and I don’t know why they copied their name and logo from SGC.

I believe they were founded in 1987 with that logo. Figure SGC copied them.

I don't mind the labels at all. The cases look thinner like PSA's - which is probably a good thing for shiny cards.

If any of these companies have offices in the NYC area and are willing to hire inexperienced would-be graders, I'd be interested. It seems like a really cool job. I know PSA has an office in Jersey but that's a bit far for me, and from what I understand they don't actually grade there.

That's because SGC used to be a part of CGC. If you look at the back of any SGC case you will see it still dawns the logo hence why is the same as collectibles group.

They broke away a while back.

Either way this is fantastic news. They are TOP DOG in comics for resale, etc. and while that sure takes a while to get back, I think the more spread out the sports card grading can be with a credible 4th grader it should help speed up times across the board no matter which you choose. Maybe not for a while since some companies have huge backlogs, but once past that it will. Of course other graders wont like it. (competition) but its good for the consumers/collectors.

tbh its confusing that a company that picks labels that aesthetically ugly are an 'authority' on card quality and attributes.

Distant 4th

PSA will always be 1st because of the registry
BGS will probably keep 2nd because of the slabs and subgrades
SGC will probably keep 3rd, although I could see them getting up to #2, depending on if they can have faster turnaround times
CGC will be 4th and honestly not even waste their time. Stick with what you know.

Thanks

I initially typed out that I used to think the two were one, but I realized it made me look like an idiot so I deleted.

That was for customer service reps though right? That's got to be near poverty pay in California.
