That looks like an N95 mask. Those are difficult to breathe in even when not exerting oneself.

He ain't messing around. He's probably taking every precaution possible to make sure he and his family are healthy for the birth of their child. I don't blame him.

That's correct. It's not safe to wear a mask while exercising. Especially an N95. It also demonstrates a lack of understanding of how the virus is transmitted (hint, you're at no risk if you're in open air maintaining distance). Hopefully nobody follows his lead.

I agree that it can be unsafe to wear an N95 mask while exercising because it makes it very difficult to breath.

BUT, I respectfully understand why Trout would rather be safe and wear an N95 mask around his teammate.. because a majority of his teammates are not wearing any type of protective mask at the ballpark. I can understand if everyone around him is wearing just a regular mask (non-N95) while playing beside him and heavy breathing.. but most of them are not. Trout is probably unsure who exactly has covid-19 on his team. These are the same teammates “tagging” him out and trying to catch the same fly-ball as him. It’s the same reason I wear an N95 mask with every patient I encounter in the emergency room. All of the patients come in wearing no mask, so I’d rather be on the safe side and wear an N95 mask in case the patient has covid-19. Mike Trout has a pregnant wife and a baby due very soon. I would probably do the same thing.. especially with all these MLB players popping up positive lately. In all honesty, if it was me, I would probably sit out this season if I had a baby due soon.

That is just my 2 cents.. I know and understand every medical professional has their opinion. This is just mine.

Wearing a mask isn't all about the individual but the people around that individual and all the people around all of them and so on. It's an act of helping out others but feel free to use it as a political view. Remember the more that wear masks the more freedom you will get.

Honestly if you are wearing a mask and constantly adjusting it or pulling it down and not constantly washing/sanitizing your hands after doing that you are more likely to spread coronavirus than not.

For example I just got back from the grocery store, I saw many people wearing masks, adjusting, using their phone then touching products, putting them back and never once sanitizing in-between.

CDC STATES - Plastics
Examples: milk containers and detergent bottles, subway and bus seats, backpacks, elevator buttons
2 to 3 days

So if you have the coronavirus or you are a-symptomatic you have just contaminated the product you looked at and put down. Since you are wearing a mask you are collecting a large amount of viral load on said mask and then touching your phone and goods and surfaces and happily spreading the coronavirus while claiming I'm wearing a mask and savings lives!

This is just silly, the only way wearing a mask works if you are also following safe sanitizing practices along with it. So just wearing a mask isn't saving lives. Science can tell you that in some areas and some places it may also help spread the virus. If you are following the guidelines 100% then what you are doing is just as bad and possibly worse than the person not wearing a mask. But you know science is hard, looking up facts and information on transmission of viruses and other aspects than just masks alone is also hard. Especially with the internet at everyone's fingertips. Really confuses me when coronavirus cases have spiked right after millions of people protested in large groups probably constantly readjusting their masks leaving openings and not following the proper guidelines and all of a sudden everyone is surprised that with more testing, more failure to follow social distancing rules and failure to properly wear masks and sanitize.

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

I've been following this website for awhile and it details cases which includes serious cases and deaths daily. Currently today there is 1,613,366 active cases and 15,382 cases in the US are considered serious or critical. Which means 0.95% of cases in the United States are considered serious and 99.05% of cases are considered mild.

I don't get my information from the news though, all media stations lie and push a political agenda. Facts don't care about your feelings or political beliefs and neither do I. You are free to believe what you want to believe all I ask is do your own research first.

Now back to Mike Trout, honestly I hope he sits out. If he is concerned for the safety of himself or his family he should do whats best he believes for them.

I agree but he's in a difficult spot. He gets paid a lot of money to do what he does and he may feel the urge to play for his team and help them try to win a championship. Not to mention the competitor in him wanting out there too and the feeling he might be letting down his fans. The rest of what you said to me was nothing but I don't wear a mask and here's why. It's one thing to do research, it's another to get the information from the correct spots/people.

I definitely agree he's in a difficult spot. That's why I think he needs to do what he thinks is best for him and his family. I think most people should always do that, it's just a game at the end of the day. While there are many fans that may be disappointed if he does opt out he is just having a baby and trying to be a good father and husband because honestly he's just a great all around guy. I'm sure he still hurt at the loss of his brother in law, and might want to be over protective now of his wife and child. I honestly have nothing but respect from him and will support his decision either way. I mean selfishly I'd love him to play and get another MVP but I truly want the best for people all around. My opinion doesn't really matter anyways, it's just an opinion.

As for the mask stuff, I don't care if people wear it or don't. I think everyone should do what they think is best for them. I really have no dog in the fight as I don't think there is a right or wrong answer. I think it should be up to personal choice as I believe in freedom over anything. If people are worried about people not wearing a mask, easy solution stay far away from them. Problem solved.

Mike Trout and his wife just came out with a suicide prevention clothing line/baby clothes/misc items for sale

https://tinyturnip.com/collections/y...-isnt-over-yet

"An exclusive collaboration with Mike and Jess Trout to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

This artwork was envisioned by Mike and Jess Trout and designed by Rachel Luzi and Jalynne Crawford. The main focus of the design is a baseball themed "semicolon," symbolizing a punctuation mark in literature where the author could have ended a sentence, but decided to continue it instead. This design is meant to empower those who are struggling to know it's okay to not be okay, and to seek help knowing that their "game isn't over yet"."

As an OG Trout Superfan of Blowout, I’m disappointed he is on the fence.
I went and played softball about 10 minutes after my wife gave birth.

If he wants to be the face of baseball, he needs to step up. I’m sorry....

If LeBron pulled that crap in the NBA...that would be WEAK!
