So how much of a ding would a prizm or Optic refractor with a print line take? Is it worth subbing still if other things look good? Nothing huge, just 2nd year type stuff

I posted this in the Mahomes thread a little bit back, but man am I happy to have pulled the trigger on these courtside/field level silvers earlier in the year. I remember hearing that the courtside silvers had a print run of ~30, so I figured it would be a solid long term investment. I had no idea it was going to increase in value so quickly over the coming months. It’s already one of my favorites in my portfolio. I know it’s not a PSA 10, but I really am a fan of the quad 9.5 subgrades!

Given how much the Prizm PSA 10s have jumped. How much higher can they go by the end of the "season"?

Last two just went for $4200 a piece I think. They have had a big jump lately but so has everything. Who knows anymore....

I think the base will be pushing 1,500 per before season end. The PSA 9 will be pushing 700

Luka Prizm Base PSA 10's inching closer to $1K. One ended at $929 recently...

$1k by season's start is my prediction! If he even does "decently"...watch out!

If he makes the playoffs and manages to make it past first round, his cards will go nuclear. 2nd year stuff will go up as 1st year stuff will be beyond unobtainable.

There’s a mojo prizm autograph from his rookie year ending at auction soon. It’s not mine, so I’m not pumping it at all, and it’s not exactly cheap, but it’s a lot lower than I would have expected since it seems mojo prizms are so popular. The similar BINs for this card are super high-priced, in comparison.

Am I missing something about this card? Is it that Luka autos aren’t that popular, even though it seems they should be at somewhat of a premium since he doesn’t seem to have signed any this year?

It's a Luka-mom sticker auto right? People tend to stay away from those (if they can) and opt for the Luka-Luka autos!

Ah, ok I got it: the uncertainty of that whole thing last year is still hanging over it, perhaps. Was there any definitive conclusion or official comment on that whole thing last year...or is it still speculation that his mom or someone else signed them because of how the loops look?

Speculation of course. But, I'm a firm believer that it wasn't him and I'd rather spend my $$$ on an auto that looks like his real sig!

I know Optic had a group of non-LULU sigs. So, that's one. But, anything that looks sloppy, it's his auto. Anything that looks SUPER-neat...it's mama!

Wait so this is kind of amazing: the collector community has looked at his auto and said it just doesn’t look right...and that speculation has become somewhat-common wisdom? Nothing said from panini or Luka or anyone involved?

Did a handwriting expert at least take a look and opine on it?

We had a whole thread about this. It's been beaten to death. So, I don't want to start it again.

You have one side that say it's real and the other side that say it's fake. I'm on the fake side...you can take whatever side you want.

I, for one, don't think it really hurts the value. Sure, a couple people may not bid on an auto because it's loopy, but weren't not talking a huge loss in value.

If the loopy autos ever take a huge dive, Panini will most likely need to look into it. Then it's a win/win because the loopy autos could get replaced or they get authenticated since they are guaranteed on the back of the card.

Until then, loopy or messy - my suggestion is to just go for on card autos.
