I maintain an inventory around 300-400 cards and usually sell through 15-20% a week. I also price aggressively on cards that I'm wanting to move or buy for quick flips.

all depends on the card and your price.

i have seen cards sell in seconds, and have seen them sitting there since 2011

I have 25,000 cards for sale. Some days I sell 5, some days 50.

Off a smaller base, I've sold 85 cards in the last month and currently have 507 for sale (built up from zero for sale in January almost entirely through cards bought to flip).

With a very small number of exceptions, I try to be the lowest on the site for everything - if possible by at least 10% and I buy to flip with that in mind.

How quickly has comc started working on recent batches for you guys? Comc received my cards Thursday morning and has yet to notify me that they have received the cards and that they will start my processing. Generally this has taken no more than 48 hours for me in the past, including during the Covid pandemic. Curious if has been taking longer for everyone else.

For me it's varied. My last two batches sent in they logged them in the system that day. Previous batches (maybe 6 weeks back or so) it took 3-5 days.

My last two mailbox submissions took 2 weeks to log. If you email them, that is what their basic response says. They are deluged with submissions and are trying to get them logged in two weeks.

for the guy wondering about sales...im averaging more than 10 cards sold daily, so ive sold over 2000 cards so far this year...I also buy quite a bit to keep inventory up...the majority of my flips id say I get $0.05 on, but I make more than $20 a week on flips (on average) obviously big flips are usually things that ive held and aren't instant things...like I may find a card for $10 and relist for $45 because I know to the RIGHT buyer itll do that, but that buyer might not be here today...but mostly I play the grind, buying things for $0.50 or less

Anyone else's sales way up over the past 10 days?

I've sold nearly triple what I normally sell in a 10 day period.

Mostly it's basketball, baseball & soccer which makes sense considering those are the sports that have started or are getting ready to start.

same. i'm basketball only. i do mostly short term holds. yesterday was a huge day for me. huuuuge.

i really lucked out in that i bought into lots of cards at the beginning of this year, while the season was still going on. many of my gains are bonkers, for example:

2013-14 Prizm Damian Lillard Base
Bought 4/25/2020: $2.75
Sold 7/8/2020: $19.50. net gain $18.53, that's 670% profit. lot's more examples.

i'm still finding what i believe are good cards to flip. just today, i bought:

2013-14 Panini Prizm - [Base] - Light Blue Prizm Die-Cut #8 - Paul George 86/199 for $15. another one is listed at $49. i could probably flip fast. but i'm gonna hold in the hopes that clippers have a good run and george kills it and his cards go bonkers. that could be a $75-$100 card easy. 2nd year prizm. serial numbered. shinny. prizm. it's a little harder now to find cards to flip, but i still think it's possible.

and all my gains get pumped back into building my collection. game used of HOFers and future HOFers. i like the multi-swatch cards of multiple players. like preferred booklets and stuff. that stuff is awesome to me. a card with 8 game used swatches of HOFers? wow.

i'm having a blast on COMC.

Questions for sellers. I have only sold a few hundred cards on COMC.

Can you see if buyers have put a card you have on their watch list? I think that would be a good thing.

Can you see if any buyers have made offers on a card you have. When you do not accept offers? May be good for some sellers to see a lot of buyers wanting to make offers on a card.

YES I understand why somr sellers do not want that but maybe some would like it.

You cannot see if buyers have put your cards on watch lists. I asked for that a few years back in the improvements thread.

If you don't accept offers, the buyer is inhibited from actually submitting an offer. So no, you can't see that either. Those sellers should turn on their ability to receive offers if they want that ability.

Last few months have been very busy. Ive also been sending batches weekly so new inventory always helps.

My sales for the last 2 weeks are about twice as much than what I usually expect, which is surprising, because of the shipping costs/delays.

same, nothing released though...I have a bunch of Griffey in mine and most of what I have been selling is Griffey, so it would be nice to restock a bit

They also pushed out the Est. Date yesterday from 8/20 to 8/25, so I don't have too high of hopes yet

At least right now when it moves from 5% to 20% you should expect cards to start popping about 3-5 days after that.

I just had a $10 card returned from an eBay purchase on 3/21. Is this allowed, this far out, a few days shy of 4 months ago? To top it off, now, the card has condition notes of 'minor scratches'!

It's quite possible they sent it back within their time window, and COMC just didn't process it quickly. So yes, it's quite possible the correct return rules were followed.

My understanding is that the return window is based on how long the buyer has had the item in their physical possession. I've had items returned 6 years after I originally sold them.

Today is the first time that I've ever seen a returned item in my "items purchased". It was treated as though I purchased the item from "COMC_Returns" for 26 cents. It was reprocessed, given a new COMC number, condition notes and a high quality scan.

I can't find any evidence that they charged me a reprocessing fee for this item, though it's possible that they did. Also, it isn't clear whether this is an item I originally processed or if it's an item I flipped.

My general sense is that returns are part of the selling process and overall, they benefit the marketplace by giving customers higher confidence in the product. However, I don't generally deal in hot new items, where the return policy is more susceptible to abuse.

Has anyone requested a shipment recently and actually gotten them early then expected timeframe? $92 to ship 113 cards which I won’t receive until July 29.. next thing is $42 to receive on August 6th.. crazy turnaround times but you buy something on eBay from comc and it’s shipped ASAP..

I have 3 orders waiting to be shipped, my request from April was supposed to ship today, but it did not. I’m on a buying strike until I can actually get cards shipped to me. I think if you pay $92 they will be more inclined to ship than if you use economy, but I just figured I’d wait. But for me there is no point in adding to my order backlog, I’m just going to have to not buy anything until they can start to deliver in a reasonable timeframe for a reasonable cost.

My last 3 orders were 1 day before, 1 week after, and 2 weeks before target ship date. I use the rushed service.
