Ending tonight! You had to have bid on the first round in order to qualify to bid in the final round.

Surprised to see it go for under $2M.

Supposedly there was a cyber attack and the 30 minute end time for all auctions was extended by 30 minutes on top of what was left already at the point the auction was paused.

Not sure why anyone would deliberately mess with an auction house like this but that's definitely two in a row with messed up endings.

The LeBron is $1.8M actually (after factoring in the premium). Compared to the last 2-3 Goldin Auctions this one was rather smooth. Slight pause at the beginning but eventually it all worked.

The winning bidder posted on twitter as did Darren Rovell, i guess he called Darren to promote the fact he won.
I therefore have permission to state his name and it is Leore Avidar
@leoreavidar
And yes, system delays are frustrating but we ensured everyone who wanted to bid was able to bid and closed auction successfully, and communicated throughout.

There are 23 of these cards in existence. It shouldn't be too difficult to figure out where they are, and you know damn well most of them have been graded by now.

I'm willing to bet that you could get this card for less outside of this auction.

im guessing someone who spends 1mill+ on a card, is most definitely not "going broke in short order". he's obviously not going to be spending his life savings on a lebron james card.

it is well established that these cards are not easy to come by. esp in 9.5. those that have one in 9.5 are prob not moving them, and if they are, itll be via auction, as that's how value is likely to be maximised.

This is the type of post you put out after losing out on an auction.

So what was your max bid?
