As we were discussing this the commentator was like "great way for Harden to get some rest with all the minutes he's playing." Haha, we will never know but possible!

Toronto is built pack the paint and slow down the big guys that like to score there. Embiid, Simmons, Giannis.

Gasol, Ibaka, Siakam. 3 legit interior defenders.

The 6ers defense would have to be playing lights out for them to compete. We’ve seen that before, just not in the first two games of the bubble

I know the Rockets are so small that they get outrebounded and dominated inside, but their micro lineup is also successful for its ability to disrupt teams offensively and defensively. Offensively, their ability to spread the floor spreads the opposing big man out of the paint to let Harden and Westbrook have their way driving to the basket. Defensively, they're so versatile because they can switch on everything without giving the opposing guards a mismatch to take advantage of. And the Rockets have some thick bodies in Harden and Tucker that hold their own now and again down low. Jeff Green also did well against Nurkic and Whiteside.

Such an intriguing experiment.

Agreed. The west is a different story but in the east there aren't as many teams based on outside shooting to compete with their style of play. They do rely a lot on foul shooting but then again so do many teams so if the defense is able to lock it down that's the shot. Bucks would (and could probably) need to do the same. If the seeding goes the way it is right now it looks like we'll win the 1st round against the C's and lose the 2nd round vs. the Raptors unless they lost to the Nets which is very very unlikely. I don't know if I see a likely path for us fading that 2nd round matchup vs. the Raptors but perhaps I am not looking closely enough. I guess the hope is we're so upset with them about how we got knocked out last year that our heart comes through or something like that but that'd be pretty storybook!

15-11 for melo tonight and the big 3 down the stretch. I remember half of you haters on here two years ago saying he shouldn't be in the league anymore, LOL.

he had some spots late where the old melo came out (ball hog that stops the flow)

but then came up clutch on defense and that 3 when it mattered

I like Portland’s chances of getting the 8th spot That series against the Lakers will be a gem.

Amazing how much better the Spurs have looked without LMA. Sometimes you just need a Drew Eubanks out there to do some dirty work and not get in the way.

Plenty of young talent at the guard spots also (even if there's not a likely superstar there). Dejounte Murray has a mostly confident mid range jumper which looks great, now he just needs to learn how to be a playmaker.

A decent defensive (bigger) wing and they should theoretically be a great defensive team...someone like, say...Marcus Morris. ...or the Boris Diaw from the 2013 finals.

Edit: Other decent options that come to mind...Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green, they're meant to be good at the wing defending stuff.

The young guys are coming together nicely and it's good to see them playing together finally. Something that a lot of us have been begging for given the obvious struggles during the reg season. This bubble thing is mostly a learning experience for them (see the missed assignment at the end of the last game). I don't expect much but love the effort shown so far. Demar has been good as well but these young guys are the future for the franchise.

Lonnie has been an excellent long range shooter both in college and in the pros. He has a very smooth release and great form + elevation.

attempts per game don't make you either good or bad, c'mon man.

He shot 39% as a rookie and 41% this year. On corner 3s he's career 43%.

Post ASG he's 47.4% on 1.9 attempts per game. It's not a fluke.

And he's 21, so his shot will only improve.

It took 6 seasons for JJ Redick to shoot better than Lonnie is shooting this year, at age 25 no less.

Consider yourself no longer ignorant of LW4's shooting ability. Because you clearly were before, like most people here I would imagine.

Bucks would do themselves a favor losing to the Heat on Thursday to help them get that #3 seed. Would rather face the winner of the Celtics/Pacers series in Round 2 with the winner of Heat/Sixers being in the ECF than having to possibly play the Heat in Round 2 if they stay the 4th seed.
Sixers will be beating the Celts in rd 1, you'll get the Heat in rd 2. Better work on your 3-pt defense.

76ers are 2 games behind Indy because they have the tiebreaker. They also finish with Toronto and Houston, could easily lose both of those esp if resting Embiid and/or Simmons which they will probably since TOR is a back-to-back.

Maybe, we split the first two this year before losing there without Embiid and JRich got hurt 4 minutes into the game and it was a 4-pt game in the 4th without two of our best guys.

We had to play Scott, Ennis, Neto and Pelle 45 minutes! Lol.

Siakam and FVV struggle most games against our D [let's ignore our last two games this week]. Everyone focused on Embiid's bad game the first matchup but Gasol had zero pts in 30 minutes in the rematch.

Gonna be hard for Toronto to win a series if Lowry and ....OG? Powell? RHJ?have to come through with big scoring games every time for them to win.

Be a helluva series either way. But we would have beaten them last year if Embiid didn't have the stomach flu and dehydration in Game 4. As long as our stars are healthy, I like our odds but def not sleeping on the Raps.

Siakam can't stop Embiid, I disagree there. JoJo was +90 in the series against them last year, and that's with being sick, the ab & knee injuries, and not even being able to rest in G7 for more than 2 minutes.

I didn't like the Horford signing either, but Process being able to get at least 10-12 minutes off can only help.

Simmons shot 60% last year from the floor in the series also. I don't think I can consider that slowing him down esp when he put up 34 in the elimination games.

As we all know, there's wins in November and then wins in the playoffs. We're all gonna see if Philly is really built for the playoffs.

Great points! My main concern is with our 2nd unit, when Horford is on the floor. They can clog the paint and with how much our guys rely on the paint we're going to need our outside shooters to make shots in this series. I think they'll specifically play in a way that packs the paint and forces us to shoot to win. My main concern is that Tobias Harris will choke in the playoffs. Can Alec Burks, Furkan Korkmaz, and Shake Milton make shots when they matter? I Know J rich can. Honestly, as a Sixers fan I know Furkan can! Tobias let me down in the playoffs last year from a shooting perspective, he's great in the regular season but he has to prove it to me in the playoffs. Same for Horford, imo.

There's hope but it's our toughest matchup. What I am saying is I see a 0% chance the celtics beat the sixers, they have no answer for our big me and a 0% chance of beating us. However, the Raptors have a solid chance at beating us. I am not saying it will happen or I don't believe we can win just that they are capable of defending in the paint. We are also capable of great defense. If we show up and play it. Will we? We're gonna find that out. I just think the Raptors are deeper than we are and we may lose a lot of point spreads when Horford comes in over Embiid for example. I do think their 2nd unit has a pretty large edge over ours. Maybe that edge has lessened with these trades and Thybulle will play a large role but I have to see it to believe it. Even if our top end talent gets theirs, our 2nd unit could cost us. Once again, this is just a possibility not necessarily what I think will happen. I'd just rather fade them if possible.
