Since Prizm PSA 9's are currently around $650-700 and Optic PSA 10's are around $1100 I think most anybody would do that trade straight up. I believe he was asking if it is advisable to sell the Prizm and then add money to purchase an Optic PSA 10. To this, I would still say yes. I think the upside on the Optic PSA 10 is greater than that of the Prizm PSA 9 at their current price points.

PSA 10 of a 1B brand will outsell PSA 9 of a 1A brand. That swap would be made by most.

Now this is a loaded question. If you are talking about just popularity of base RC's. Prizm is currently the most popular RC. At present it is considered the flagship base RC of a basketball player. Optic would be second in line after Prizm for this title. Select would be a distant third at this point with Mosaic probably closing in on Select in the future if this year's popularity can be taken as a barometer. Depending on your goals, I think there are much more exciting Luka cards to spend $1.1k on than an Optic PSA 10 or $700 on a Prizm 9.

At a 1k budget, try picking up a status parallel: blue, green, aqua, orange... try looking up the pop report (for psa 10) on those and you will be surprised.

Hey all, long time lurker, first time poster.

I've only recently gotten back into the hobby and wish I had never left many years ago.

I was really unaware of it as there isn't much of a physical card market here in Australia.

I've gotten a few first-year Luka's but everything that is numbered or more exclusive is out of my price range.

I was just after opinions of a potential trade for a 2nd year Luka Card.





Do you think it would be worth trading for a numbered 2nd year or just sell the Ja and add extra cash to maybe try and score another 1st year Luka?

Well I passed on a PSA 10 for $500 last fall. I hadn’t done my research on Select.

Probably wouldn’t have bought the Tie Dye two months later though. So I guess I can feel better about it?

2-3 weeks before that I've won a /60 copper and a Courtside Base for $1500 total (both PSA10), but probstein f**ked up something with the invoice and I wasn't able to pay for it due to an ebay bug, so he had to cancel it.

Although I have two base PSA10s, all that comes to my mind with these cards are bad memories and regrets. I almost feel the pain every time I look on them.

Anyway, it's time to stop crying about #firstworldproblems.

This is truth! I am presently consternated about whether I should send my recently graded 10,10, 9.5, 9.5 BGS prizm silver back to BGS for review to hopefully pristine it or to PSA to 10 it. You got it way too good when that is a concern....

With prices jumping, I’m curious if anyone is willing to share what they’ve been purchasing lately? Seems like most people got in early, so maybe just a dollar range or category of cards. First year base rookies, autos, RPA, 2nd year etc.

Personally I’m still buying rare 1st and 2nd year and comparing values with Prizm base and silver PSA 10s. I have to be a lot more selective but thanks to the bass boom I was able to turn into a couple of nice cards.

Almost exclusively Revolution singles and Status wax (all ripped).

Best bang for your buck now seems to be in 2019 stuff.
