Personally I have no reason to believe that card is fake, and it's worth noting that the seller has plenty of real cards listed for sale.

That being said, there's always the chance that someone knows something I don't...

I'm a little late but how is no one talking about the alleged fake Michael Jordan red PMG on the previous page? I've never heard of these being faked with all of that etched foil. Are there higher resolution photos available? Backdoored would be one thing but faked from the ground up is pretty mind-boggling.

That one looks good to me.

Come to think of it, I seem to remember some controversy around that seller at one point, but that specific card appears to be legit IMO. I hope I'm not confusing the seller's handle with someone else's. If I am, someone please correct me.

Looking at that picture of the 3 side by side in that thread, there is something that sticks out immediately, although I'm sure there are plenty other giveaways that I'm not seeing as well.

It's just amazing to me that this set is being faked from the ground up, although I can't imagine these are very convincing in reality if you have experience holding a genuine PMG in hand. I would love to see high res photos of one of these fakes next to a genuine copy in the same environment (under the same lighting, shot by the same camera, etc..), or better yet, hold the 2 cards side by side. I find it very hard to believe that counterfeiters are producing comparable, let alone passable, etched foil surfaces on these, unless they are using the same machinery used to produce the originals in '97.

I sent the playmakers in. It was from hegotgame15 in Australia. He is a known 90s MJ expert. He said it was fine. Roger Maris said he thought the 2 was over stamped and likely fine.

Card has been in a collection raw for 10-15 years. I subbed it and they graded it the first time no problem.

That’s all I know. They haven’t told us why it ended. I was hoping it was due to the bidding shenanigans and would re start. We will see I guess.

It went to $50k in a day then the retractions started yes. One was from a 0 feedback bidder. I reported it all. They said they would start verifying bidders and keep a close eye on it. So I thought it was gonna run.

Then it ended.

There is some discussion that the serial isn’t good. I’ve heard knowledgeable people say it is and isn’t.

I do not know the answer.

Yeah, just looking at the one's PWCC has up right now, there's three different serial number styles. I'll have to go back and check which one is real.

They just messaged me it was pulled due to the serial number concerns and if determined to be legit it would be back in a future auction.

Hardaway and Jordan are no good. Jordan looks like the same font that lots of the fake Stadium Club and Finest cards are stamped with, albeit with (potentially) better foil color. I'm struggling to recall if any real cards even have "1"s stamped in that style? Hardaway looks like the same style of fake that the one member here returned to PWCC earlier this year if I remember correctly. At any rate, the serifs on the "1"s give it away on these five.
