I spend a lot of my commute time listening to discussions on race related topics. Deep discussions conducted by professional intellectuals who study this stuff for a living. There isn’t a lot of congruency between mainstream narratives and the ideas and beliefs discussed in the content I listen to. I have a genuine interest in developing a better understanding of racial issues and police/civilian interactions, but this garbage ain’t it. I also don’t need it forced on me. I’m eager to consume real content on my own time, but when I turn on hoops, I just want to watch hoops.

Sports right now is just a hooker being pimped to promote BLM. Sports is secondary so BLM can be promoted and make millions in donations that it does not have to say were the money goes because they are not a 501c3. The money they get is run thru another 501c3 and what BLM spends the money on is very very loosly said saying x percent goes to this or that. I think BLM is making some people who lead it very rich.

Hockey has been fantastic. The last month of four games a day w/ Doc on the call in the evenings has been a blessing. Quickly is back to the top of my favorite sport to watch. Production is excellent and the hockey has been quite strong; a lot of close games.

Maybe it would be ok if it was equal coverage and discussion on all races not just BLM. Where are the white, latin, asian players allowed to talk about cops vs their races? How quickly we all forget about the China incident. The NBA is total joke of organization they are ok with modern day slavery so they can stay rich but you cant talk about that but they fall all over themselves to talk about BLM.

Usually are not the white people rioting the antifa trolls who live in their parents basements coming out at night to try to destroy things because they don't have the balls to do anything in daylight or show their faces?

Also heard the rioters did attack one business owner who tried to defend his business. This is a massive fail by the govenor and the city leaders as they are sitting back just watching and doing nothing. If they can't get things under control with local police and the guard they need to ask for help. They need to get everyone both people rioting and people out there to stand against the riots. As we have seen people are starting to take to the streets to take the law into their own hands we don't want this. The leaders of the state and city need to get their crap together and get this fixed.

I propose that all forms of media exclusively cover the BLM angle of the police/civilian shootings to ensure we have an endless feed of updates and poorly informed takes. Last one to get sick of it is not a racist... the rest need to be better. All others who tap out before need to step up their wokeness levels. Every service and consumer good will come with a healthy dose of BLM propaganda. Maybe Tucker Carlson and Rachel Maddow can be our sports commentators.

Two More Deaths and 169 New Cases of COVID-19

Two O‘ahu residents, one man and one woman, both over 80-years old, and both with underlying medical conditions are the 48th and 49th victims of COVID-19. The entire state expresses their sorrow and condolences to the family and friends of the latest people to pass from this disease. DOH reports 169 new cases of coronavirus today, with 149 of them in adults and 20 in minors (18-years-old or younger). Two of the cases are non-Hawai‘i residents, 10 are unknown and the remaining 157 are residents. The average number of new cases per day for the week of August 16-22, 2020 is 220.

I hate this sentiment.

The NBA is a business and does not exist without players and/or fans. Players create the product, the fans buy it.
Whether it is a proper platform is not determined by those who make the product, it’s determined by those that buy it. So if the NBA loses fans because it produces a product people don’t want to consume any more, it was a bad business choice. If the NBA giants fans, it’s a good choice. If there is no net change, there is no significant difference.

If a fan says this is not a product I want to consume anymore, it doesn’t need to be justified as to whether he/she is right or wrong.

To be fair, what the NBA and other leagues are doing isn’t a platform for discussion. Its a platform for promotion of one side. There is no discussion taking place not is it even encouraged. They’ve already chosen one side of it including any and all information or misinformation it entails.
