This was posted on Twitter and I thought it was a pretty good statement:

"The rioters don't understand why business owners would be upset to see their whole life's work go up in flames because the rioters have never done anything of value in their entire lives. They simply can't relate to the feelings of productive humans. This is an uprising of the unproductive leeches against the productive contributors. It is NOT "poor vs rich." Most of the people losing everything are not rich. They're just normal hard working Americans. And many of the rioters are far more privileged than their victims"

Very true. And it's disheartening. Part of my job has been helping those affected by the riots get their businesses back up and running. These people didn't deserve this. They are part of the economy in these communities and are having their businesses destroyed and lives threatened after choosing to do business in that community. What... the... F?

I can't imagine wanting to continue to do business in a city where there's an incredibly high probability of having your business destroyed. No business is exempt either. The protesters/rioters/looters (same thing at this point) will bust through to get inside just to look for cash or break the ATM even if you don't sell goods worth stealing. If the protesters want to separate themselves from those who are damaging property and hurting people, then do something about that while you're busy protesting. Defend your damn community.

For anyone who follows and is watching Fox, Hannity, Ingrham, Carlson and are watching the RNC - ALL cities in the USA are burning to the ground and ONLY the Republican run cities are safe.

Whether it is a proper platform is not determined by those who make the product, it’s determined by those that buy it. So if the NBA loses fans because it produces a product people don’t want to consume any more, it was a bad business choice. If the NBA giants fans, it’s a good choice. If there is no net change, there is no significant difference.

If a fan says this is not a product I want to consume anymore, it doesn’t need to be justified as to whether he/she is right or wrong.

To be fair, what the NBA and other leagues are doing isn’t a platform for discussion. Its a platform for promotion of one side. There is no discussion taking place not is it even encouraged. They’ve already chosen one side of it including any and all information or misinformation it entails.
The "other side" to this is Black Lives Don't Matter.
What should the NBA do?
Allow Klan rallies at halftime?
Paint the Confederate flag on the court?

One of the dumbest rebuttals I have ever read. You live near, means you live in the gated suburbs. You only come downtown to watch Seahawks games.

When you see what happened in Kenosha last night it's just clear why fewer and fewer people have any trust in the police.

Considering the ideological ratio of the booted, and how regularly things go south for remaining Trump backers these days, you (well, not actually you, but those capable of arguing for Trump) need all the help you can get.

For starters; people are leaving California in droves. Already 400,000 fewer able bodied workers live there vs. last year.

Not to mention the 2nd highest unemployment rate in the country. California's policies are crushing itself.

Bengals’ Alexander arrested for battery - ESPN

I do wish the police would have turned a blind eye in this case...

If some guy took my 65-year old father out to the middle of nowhere to pick berries and then supposedly just “left” him there and now the authorities can’t find him—I’d probably do the same or worse.

I hope they find the father and we’re not watching a future Netflix crime documentary play out.

So if you don’t agree with the Black Lives Matter platform in its entirety the you are labeling that person a racist, klansman/woman?

Is that the hill you’d like to die on JD?

You boil my entire post to one phrase that you incorrectly quote back to me me. Every issue has multiple sides, especially one as nuanced as this. You’re aren’t that obtuse, are you?

400,000 less workers from last year to now (I see that) but to assume that is directly tied to the covid response by the Governor is an assumption not based in the data you provided.

As for the 2nd highest unemployment rate - I can see that - due to California having the largest population and the industry that is primarily out there.

You were questioning the mods decisions, good tactic.

And thankfully everyone in here still gets to vote(no matter how badly you want them not to )

California had lost an average of 125-150,000 people per year for the last five years pre-2020. Perhaps you can surmise another reason why that figure has tripled this year. I think it's quite obvious.

https://www.sacbee.com/news/database...236910698.html

As for the percentage of unemployment; the entertainment industry is a pin prick in the overall picture. The lockdowns and closures of business, as well as the ability of mayors to turn off utilities for companies who try to open their businesses is quite the reason to leave (not to mention the rest of it).

Come on - just admit the reason you think California is so bad (numbers for COVID are much better than Florida - see my post above) and Florida is SO good - is based PURELY on the political affiliation of the Governor's and nothing else.
