Had I not bought a Shore Griffey Auto on ebay last night I would have got the hand embellished, but wasn't in the budget. On the bright side I paid under msrp for the Griffey auto
Congrats on the Shore Griffey!

I sneaked in and grabbed an /15 right before they sold out. Dang those go fast!

The back of this one is nice and fits the card.

The back of his Gibson companion card is interesting but I can't figure out what its referencing.

Thanks! It really is one of my favorite cards in the set despite the stigma attached to it, so very happy to get it as my lone Shore artist auto

Yeah as soon as I hesitated I knew it was too late regardless!

The hand embellished Ichiro may actually have been the best deal, hand embellished Ichiro and companion for one price

I think it is because how great the original card was

In hindsight, I probably should've collected a Rickey, Ripken, or Brett set. I just chose one player, Jeter, because his early cards didn't set me back over $30 each! The colors and pictures play really well with this set, throw Bob Gibson in that mix, too.

That Rickey is really great - awesome use of the "ribbon" all through the card, the colors, the graph paper background for those of us that missed the Gooden card. Fantastic.

Wish it had dropped with Ermsy's for that 2pac pricing I enjoyed on Monday and Tuesday.

There's definitely something to this. Probably why it took me until this week to order a Rivera.

I hear where you're coming from. Nice choice of players, too. I wouldn't want to limit myself to just one or two players, though. There are too many card across all the players that just strike my fancy.

Tyson Beck has established himself as bonafide, top-tier artist in this set.

Another banger today.

That feels a bit like choosing a favorite child. But I agree, Beck has created some great cards. I have received the Koufax and Williams and am delighted with both.

As someone doing a Ted Williams set, I was hoping for something a bit different from Keith Shore on this one. I'm not crazy about him using the same structure for Koufax and Clemente, but I do like the logo in the top left. Still a fine card, just not one of my favorites

Beck was an established card designer prior to this set, correct?

Would have loved to see him push the envelope more towards the art and less towards the cards even though I like a bunch of his cards aesthetically speaking. I think his Rivera is his best work in this regard (less successful on the Thomas and Williams for me personally, but appreciated the takes on those regardless).

I also pick up cards that I like, I just don't have some of the early ones. I'm going to have one artist display, one player display, and one display with a mix of player/artist cards that I enjoy. I just would've liked to have picked a player set that I'd like to look at a little bit more. I still think the Jeter cards will look good together, they just don't have as many of the nice bright colors that some of the other cards would.

He was but if you look at a progression throughout the set, his work continues to get better and better where as others have been rather stagnant.

Has anyone received a shipping update from Oldmanalan on their autos? I sent in a Williams and thought they were supposed to be sent out by now, but haven't heard anything in about 2 weeks in regards to expected shipping time.
