Here's to hoping for another Super Bowl appearance with different results! Pretty crazy weekend with an all time 9er great retiring and making a big trade for Williams as a replacement. Really liked what they did with the draft as well.
Breida was the odd man out as was Goodwin, so no real surprises there. Shanahan just needs to stop overthinking during critical moments and I think we're in line for another great year

Pretty pleased with the re-load, and not having Buckner means they can retain Kittle, assuming Kittle remains injury-free.
Next year's draft will be crucial. I think a healthy Dee Ford can be a big piece but I wonder where Kwon (who I love) fits in in this defense? Getting Blair and Jones back on that D-Line with Javon will be potent. Only thing I wish the Niners had drafted was CB. Sherman is getting older and I like Manny M - but I need to see more. REVENGE TOUR MODE: ENGAGE.

I definitely like what they did during the draft.
There is no way to expect Kinlaw to be as good as Buckner but hopefully he is disruptive and helps create mismatches on the end. They picked up a WR who might be a steal at 25. And the biggest pickup, they got the best OT in the game to cover Jimmy G's blind side and to help create holes for the running game. In addition, they picked up a solid OL who can probably be moved to Guard. A very good blocking tight end and some added depth at WR. The glaring hole is still at DB. The front 7 should continue to be dominant but they do need some help at safety.

I bet that they expect the DB room to take another step forward with Eman entrenched as the starter, Spoon working even harder for his spot back, and Tim Harris being healthy. The corner they got as a PFA should make the roster as well.

there's no way to replace Buckner, dude was a monster. So we need to tamper down expectations there a bit.
i've heard nothing but good about Aiyuk, but i'm more interested in seeing Hurd play. He really could be a huge playmaker next season if he's healthy.

I am still bummed to see Buckner gone. I'm hoping Kinlaw helps me get over this quickly. By every account from those around him we might have ourselves the second defensive rookie of the year in a row.
My concerns still lie with the defensive backfield. Sherman is 32 and still playing at an all-pro level but he is 32 and should be losing a step soon. The rest of that backfield will depends on the pass rush. If the pressure is consistent then it will help shorten the field for the DB's. I am really stoked to have back Kwon. Kwon is an absolute beast and having him back should help take pressure off Fred Warner. Good chance both make the pro bowl. The offense should be stronger this year. They now have had a full year to gel and Jimmy should be ready to command. The offensive line is stronger now with 3 potential pro bowlers in Tomlinson, Williams and McGlinchey. The running game should be back and I expect 1,000 yards Mostert with a solid 5.0 yards per game. The big question mark is the wide receivers. They look better on paper and they have added depth but still need to have a receiver to stand out. They have 2 great possession receivers in Deebo and Kittle but they are in definite need to have that speedy receiver to help spread out the defense. I'm hoping Aiyuk is that receiver but he needs to standout to get himself into the starting team. He's currently the #5 receiver on the depth chart. The 49ers have two very tough 3 game stretches. In November, we see Seattle, Green Bay, and New Orleans. The last 3 games of the year they match up against a Dallas, Seattle, and Arizona. Four of the six games are away. That's going to be a great test for this team going into the playoffs. I always prefer that they play a tough schedule in the second half of the season so they are ready for the playoffs. The NFC is much stronger than the AFC with 8 maybe 9 teams capable of winning 10+ games. It's going to be fun to watch this year!

Kinlaw is raw but that is a beastly line and he has people to learn from. He is not Buckner but he will likely be a much better run stopper than Defo was. I am curious to see how Solly plays this year and hope that Aiyuk and Deebo are deadly to pair with Kittle and Reed. Gonna be a fun year.

I'm hoping Soloman makes the same leap that Armstead made last year. This will take some pressure off Kinlaw and let him be a rookie much like Bosa had with Armstead's leap forward last year.

Ugly is being kind. JimmyG's looked awful. I've never seen a QB with happy feet like that. I'm hoping this is just a case of 2020 and the players need a few more weeks to figure things out but if they continue to play like this then an 8-8 record might seem optimistic.

If we stumble against Jets and Giants then you can be scared
And Pettis had his big chance and he failed like SGC did this past spring |

The good news is that it is still early. I'm hoping they can get healthy and have a strong second half and be the best they can be for the playoffs. That might be asking for way too much.

But against premium talent they need Kittle, Jimmy, good corner play and a pass rush, and a big part of the pass rush is gone.

The crappy part is they should be 3-1 with the Giants and Eagles coming up. So it will be hard to really know if they're any good.

The 49ers have had many injuries over the past 4 years. More so that most teams I think. I wonder if it has anything to do with how they practice or prepare for games? This pattern of injuries has costed the 49ers at least one championship.

i think its safe to say that Solomon Thomas has played his last game as a 49er- which is sad, i always rooted for him. he seems like a good guy, but he was a total bust for the 49ers.
especially when you consider they could have drafted either Mahomes or Watson instead.

We will be fine, just gotta maintain the goal and go game by game. We got wrecked with injuries but it’s just part of the adversity you gotta face to be champs. I like our chances in a long season especially with people coming off injury.
Arizona: doesn’t have depth and a lot of teams start 2-0 before they come back to earth Seattle: one guy on offense and one guy on defense who are studs. Zero pass rush, zero interior offensive line Rams: one injury like they had last year will kill them. Can’t afford depth when they put all their chips in to get back to super bowl If some of the draft picks step up and are able to compete, we should have a great final 11 games and still have our teams’ identity Just as long as we keep Dante pettis on the bench. That pre season warrior is worthless |

what an absolute mess this has been already through 4 games, and tonight....sheesh
Nick Mullens was TERRIBLE...single handily cost us the game with his play tonight. Trent Williams and McGlinchey were being pushed around like nothing, Brunskil got beat a couple of times. as far as defense, all the props in the world to them, for reals, they were without both starting corners, two d-lineman, and a starting linebacker....and then...and then... lost their nickle back and Ziggy also, probably for the year. and despite ALL of that...we lost on a hail mary. takes me back three years ago when we were losing games with Bethard and Hoyer again....someone please remind me why in the first place we ever passed on Mahomes or Watson in favor of Solomon Thomas?

Helluva win considering last week’s performance. Go Niners.

what a win by the 49ers!
i hope Mostert and Trent Williams are okay, my goodness. It seems like every game we're losing one or two starters. Also, i think Leveon Bell jumped the gun and signed too quickly with the Chiefs lol, just saying
