It feels weird rooting for the Astros right now.

Well it worked, that was a nice surprise. 3 games back now, and looks like we're playing tomorrow. Wouldn't that be something if we were 2 games back heading into the Dodgers series. Lots of second guessing Jansen as their closer.

The Rosenthal pickup is looking better and better. Who knows, maybe the Dodgers were targeting him? Kenley always has been very beatable.

I'm glad we got him, and the RPs are starting to look like we expected them to. Sounds like its a Pads-Giants double header tomorrow Sunday (false positive) so even more chance to creep closer to LAD!

Doubleheader today confirmed with Clevinger in Game 1 and Richards in Game 2. I really like the decision not to give Dodgers a first look at Clev next week but then also saving Lamet for that series.

That's what they got Clevinger for. Only 2.5 back of the Dodgers right now. VERY impressive.

It was his best performance by far this year. Looks like his velocity is back up to 97 also. I was concerned with his earlier starts as he didn’t look to have the same stuff as last year but looks more like he’s continuing to gain confidence in the knee. I think he and Lamet give them a great shot to beat the Dodgers in the playoffs if both bring their A stuff next month.

Wow wow wow! Can we be any hotter going into this Dodgers series? Pitching is stellar. Hitting is insane. Wil Myers OPS 1.218 last 7 games. Only thing not working is Tatis - maybe he's waiting for LAD vs Mookie, let's see.

Kershaw vs Tatis. Lamet vs Mookie. Next 3 games are probably the biggest in San Diego in over a decade and I can't wait!

BTW, great Campy card he's going to be a stud (behind Nola).

Fantastic. Watching at work. If this keeps up I might need to take a sick day tomorrow

Am I the only one who thinks Tatis is pressing a bit? He looks like he could use a day off... he hasn't been superhuman for about a week now. I am so spoiled now...

for a little while I thought maybe the season would be short enough that a Tatis slump might just not occur at all lol

Grisham with a statement! Reminds me of Tatis' granny 3-0 - another statement.

Forget the Past, these are the NEW Padres, We're the Future!

As a Nats fan, last time I enjoyed watching a scrappy team like this was last year.

Kershaw was dealing up until Grisham’s HR and the Padres responded as a team. Who knows how far they’ll go, but I’m enjoying this ride.

When you compare on paper objectively, Padres are better than the Dodgers. Plus you have to really like the clubhouse culture they’ve built. The Kershaw era Dodgers have very good chance to be forever known as the Buffalo Bills of baseball.

I was thinking this series doesn't really have much Playoff impact since these teams are locked into a 1-4 divisional series matchup. But the Padres are 9-1 recently and playing their best baseball of the season, and the Dodgers are 5-5 and playing their worst. With only 10 games left, you definitely want to be a HOT momentum team like the Nationals last year. Can only imagine if there's a sweep, what it does to team psyches.

BTW - Kershaw is a class act. I hope he wins a WS, just not as a Doyer.
