Default Aaron Donald Prices

Anyone else feeling bullish on his RCs? Obviously there will always be a ceiling on the prices of defensive players, but $10-15 for a TC Refractor of a future HOFer of his caliber seems like highway robbery at this point.

I think he could go down as best defensive player of all time, certainly in contention for best player of his era. Disclosure, I have this Topps Chrome RC Superfractor, but you can probably find me saying similar things before I owned it.

If I had the funds I would consider making an offer on it. Maybe one day!

I had the same thought. Not getting 2 speculative but I picked up a few. He is a beast and if the defensive player barrier gets broken Hobby wise he’s a great candidate.

Surprised that you own raws. Don't think it will grade as a PSA 10?

If you reply with...."last one on eBay sold for this"...then you should have bought it on eBay.

Donald is unbelievable. I'm glad he plays for my team.

His 14' Chrome Autos seem low considering he plays in a massive market and he's been the overall best defensive player in the NFL during that span. 1st Ballot HOFer

Until there is a stat "fudged up the play" I do not believe his stats will ever show how good he is/was. What I mean by this unless you watched Donald yourself, you will never know how good he is which means his value will die off over time.

So bad investment for me. Cool to collect him though.

I bought a pair of game/practice used cleats and gloves of him. It’s hard to find nice cards of him but it seems even less memorabilia is available for him.

Absolutely—he is a dominating influence even if he doesn’t pile up the sacks. Just an example of this type of an effect is TJ Watt’s game last night, guy was all over the place making plays, his stat line though....1 tackle, 1 int...AD is a dominating presence and looking like an all-time great by those watching the game. Defensive stats though, or lack of them are misleading.

He had 20.5 sacks two years ago. If that doesn't show you how good he is I don't know what to say.

Lack of what? The guy has 72 sacks from the interior line position in just 6 seasons..... he’s a 5 time first team all pro in those 6 seasons, he’s a 2 time defensive player of the year, he’s led the nfl in tackles for loss 2 times...... and may I reiterate; FROM THE INTERIOR. The entire league is edge rushers and Donald is the best interior lineman to ever play in the NFL (in my opinion). Donald if he plays for a few more years will be in the Reggie white and Lawrence Taylor category. I’d argue right now he’s a top 50 player in NFL history just having played 6 full years

Missed my point completely—the point I attempted to make is that even if he gets 0 sacks or whatever in a game he still was the best player on the field

I don't think anyone is missing your point, just disagreeing with your sentiment that he doesn't pile up sacks.

Okay—perhaps I should’ve said even when he gets 0 sacks in a game...
But carry on

Damn. Chrome PSA 10 fetching $100+ . I have a stack of his stuff needing slabs. Problem is if I send them in now then I might not get them back until the Draft.

I wouldn't worry about it, I agree with the others. He could be the most dominating defensive player in NFL history. He'll be the best defensive player until he quits.

What makes A Donald’s stats so amazing is that he is doing his damage when the NFL has made tackling nearly precision. Tackling a quarterback with a hit zone tighter than Jose Altuve’s strike zone.

Randy White, Alan Page and John Randle were beasts but their strike zones were from the feet to the head. Donald has had to be a precision tackler and still puts up insane numbers.

Never see his cards at shows. Hard to say what his prices are. I spent a ton of money on N. Suh whom I thought would be the beast that Donald is.

Plus he's fighting double teams and triple teams. He's an absolute game wrecker. It doesn't matter what teams do, he finds a way to impact the game.

Moreover, he got his big contract and he still works hard and shows up every Sunday.

Aaron Donald is that once a generation talent. He's on the same level as Joe Greene, Reggie White and Lawrence Taylor.
