I have a sealed case of 2019/20 Revolution that I've never intended on opening. With the Zion auto redemptions expiring in June 2021...is it more advantageous to sell before the redemptions expire...or is it just a long term hold no matter what? I know Revolution isn't on the top of anyones list...but I bought it pre-release so I don't have a ton into it and don't mind just letting it sit for years.
Thanks in advance for any direction, past experience, or just advice/opionion |

Are you saying an auto redemption is inside - Zion? Man bust it open; grade and sell

Obviously it's not a guaranteed hit by any means. It's a 16 box case where I believe autos fall around every other box. The odds of pulling the Zion redemption aren't great considering its only about 8 autos/case...but how badly will the fact that his autos are redemptions that expire this coming June effect the sealed resale value after they expire. Hope that makes sense?

Anyone have any experience with prior year cases with expired redemptions and value? I know the 18-19 Contenders Optic Luka Autos should be expiring soon, but I haven't seen much downward movement on the prices of those boxes.

I won’t pretend to know the answer on resale value, but it seems like the auto is not necessarily the chase in this product. The numbered parallels and galactic case hits are what sells this product to me and those don’t expire so I can’t imagine an expired auto redemption effects the value all that much. In short, there’s Zion autos in almost every product it is not what makes this product unique.

That was honestly what I was starting to think about...or putting it up around mid-season next year. If he and Ja keep progressing...and Herro is as good as he looked...I have no clue...I'll typically make the wrong decision lol

Jordan was a redemption in 2003 Exquisite. Long term it won’t matter.

I'm actually surprised that no one has given the correct answer and that is RIP IT!!!!!
Honestly though I don't think that the Zion redemption will matter long term. Any downward price movement due to the redemption will be offset easily by the longer track record and the players establishing themselves the longer into their careers they go. Also as someone else mentioned no one is buying Revolution in the hopes of hitting an auto - its a nice bonus to the numbered stuff and the galactics and lavas and everything. |

Just Joking ![]() I would agree, a Zion auto would have been nice, but people rip Revolution for the galactics and the parallels. Also, think of it as this way, when you hold a sealed case/box, you are investing in that year's draft class instead of just one player.
