Sounds like muscle tightness for both Myers and Lamet. I heard Clevinger could be back in a week or so. Keep the Faith!!

Chris Paddack going in game one. How does everybody feel about this? I just think that he is the type of guy that will thrive under this pressure, and he'll go six strong. If you'd told me opening day that he'd be starting game one of a playoff series, I'd be feeling pretty good about things.

Ouch pitching Paddack was a mistake we might have won with anyone else. Good news is the bullpen was pretty solid so feel good about winning Game 2 with Davies. But if Tatis doesn’t show up we’re not lasting long in the Playoffs anyways. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

They need to sign Bauer, team him with Clev next year.

That was a very frustrating game. Hopefully Davies can get us to a game 3

Frustrating to watch, especially the mental errors by Cronenworth. I feel like in the regular season we saw a lot of the overly aggressive baserunning mistakes, and when you get to the playoffs you cannot give away outs like that. Not pointing fingers, but playoff teams make fewer mistakes. I have confidence in Davies, and just hope there are enough arms left in the pen for a game three. |

So, anybody else think this Tatis kid might be okay after all?

Incredible game today. Still bummed the Giants did not make the playoffs though.
*I am rooting for Slam Diego to win it all. I love everything about San Diego. |

Profar has been one of the clubs hottest hitters over the last month. Don’t like to see him on the bench....

Did anyone catch the Padres playing the Michigan fight song after Cronenworth hit that single in the 7th? I got goosebumps!

Wow what a crazy win, bullpen day shutout, Cards errors, some timely hitting, ... we’ll take it!!!! Our first Playoff series win at Petco.
Will need a miracle to beat LA without any starting pitchers but will figure it out in Texas. Maybe Gore?? Can’t hurt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

My one (really obvious) takeaway from this game is how important it is to not beat yourself. What made game three so different from the first couple of games was that aside from Tatis' throw, the Padres managed to avoid the mental errors that have plagued them too often. I get that the aggressive style of play sometimes leads to runners getting thrown out, or rushed throws, but keeping that in check and making the other team beat you is fundamental. You only get 27 outs a game... use them wisely. The new, more patient approach at the plate has paid dividends... now let's take it to the next level. Congratulations, fans, let's enjoy the win for a day or two. |
