Had I just sold when my instincts told me they were overpriced and bought back now, I would be thousands of dollars richer.

What I mean is if I bought 60 Hoops rookies last month and graded conservatively Id have a ebay value of around 12K. If I used that same bucket of money last month and bought one Phoenix Id have a ebay value of of 6K. I’m not defending only base as I have several base and some high end as well. Im simply bullish on both. I’m betting that all Luka’s including base rookies have yet to see anywhere close to their peak long term. I realize their are a lot of anti base folks in these forums. I do agree with the anti-base crowd that during the bubble peak there where better ways to invest 2K than on a base 280. However folks that bought pre Dec especially will not be disappointed holding base or high end long term IMO. I still have pre Dec Luka Rookies at PSA. Have around a thousand graded Luka Rookies all together. I did sell some during the bubble and will sell a handful next season, but holding the majority long term.

You would've also had to time the market perfectly to get that return on the base while you can almost set your own market for whenever you want to sell the Phoenix as long as there aren't others available on ebay.

I saw this too tonight. Fake or real that is a terrible way to ruin the card.

For reference here is my silver 10 you can see the bubbling in between the RC logo and the ball

Hi - I have a prizm card that I believe has the bubbling effect that the posts above are referring to, but I can’t quite tell from the picture above whether it’s the same thing. Does anyone on the board have a better or clearer picture of the type of bubbling/ripple effect on a prizm card? And does it actually seem to be the case that psa doesn’t deduct from the grade even if a card has the rippling effect on the surface? Anyone have experience with this?

I traded for this silver PSA 9 with a member here about a month ago. Everything about the card looks perfect so I think PSA is including the bubbling with the surface grade now (maybe for pop control). Notice the PSA auth number of mine starts with 48 (recent) and the one from GoNY starts with 42.

Wow - that would be very interesting if they started dinging the surface for those - as of last year it was pretty common and from what I remember they never hit them. If only we had a grading company that actually explained what was wrong with the card haha.

Haha - do you know if BGS dings for the bubbles? I'm thinking about subbing to BGS to go for the 9.5.

I'm not sure - but I can't imagine them giving it less than a 9 on surface even with the bubbles if they are hitting people for them which would still leave you in the territory of a 9.5.

Most/all seem to have some form of bumps/bubbling/waves on that top edge. Has anyone seen a 100% crisp version?

Off the top of my head I can think of seeing maybe 1 or 2 since they came out last year. I have seen others that don't have the bubbling but are crazy OC or something like that.

I JUST graded my Luka Prizm silver with the standard bubbling and it got a GEM 10.

There is likely something else wrong with the card that may be hard to see through the slab. If you think it's clean otherwise then it's a no brainer to re-sub.

My silver had the exact same effect and I got a 9.5 on the surface, so BGS doesn’t care about it. Also I’m pretty sure PSA doesn’t care about it either, there should be another issue with the card above (or just simply pop control).

Hey good to know! Only thing I can see besides the bubbles is there's some random speck of debris on the back (upper left) but it's not on the card, looks like PSA just encased it without blowing it off the card. Maybe that's what knocked it if it was on the card to begin? Here are some decent pics of the PSA:

Shout out to @VampireSports for the trade!
