I would be interested in buying. I won't blow up your DMs so message me if you decide to sell.

So, the first time i got one of my jordan's graded i was very disappointed. I never touched this card and it only came back as an 8.5. Grading is expensive. And, there may be others who disagree with me here but I think PSA will bring more money right now. PSA isn't cheap.

Also, a lot of the jordan's from the 80s and 90s aren't really worth that much. Trust me, i own a lot of the graded cards where there is ample supply.

Can you post your list? Unless you have a Rookie, the Freer cards from 87 to 89, the jewel sticker, the jambalaya, or one of the red metal cards i wouldn't expect to get big money. The green metal card is one is the most elusive Jordan card out there. 99.99999% chance no one on here has one.

A few weeks ago i was on here asking for advice about some of my cards. Complete strangers gave me some great words of wisdom so (in my opinion) you came to the right place.

Here is my .02: what will bring you more in the long run jordan cards vs a motorized go cart? True your kids aren't into cards now but what's going to be more sensible over time; your kids pleasure now vs the chance of the cards appreciating over the next 40+ years? As i see it the go carts will begin to depreciate day one and you will only use them for a defined period. As the kids get older they will likely lose interest. At that point will you still be happy you sold your cards?

As far as liquidating I have never sold anything myself. But when i do; I am going to list on an ebay auction starting at $1.00 and see why the buyers want to pay.

My liquidation philosophy may be incorrect. Candidly, i wouldn't mind feedback from other seasoned sells here. Is it worth selling via Probstein or PWCC? I don't know.

But i would say the go carts are temporary. Those Jordan cards are are likely to increase in value over time.

I hope this helps. I am not as experienced as some of the others here so i would welcome a rebuttal.

Some good points, but my vibe from OP is that he is more of a collector than investor so not sure if the appeal of potential appreciation of the cards plays a big role in his current decision making. Of course I could be wrong! Plus it's impossible to project collectible values, risky bet to assume appreciation imo. I mean, they certainly could, it's just not guaranteed.

One more thing. This will make a lot of sense if you are into ATVs. If not, then it won't be as good of an example.

I have a 2001 scrambler. About 15 years ago I was going to sell my scrambler for a Yamaha BANSHEE that was in really good condition. (the Yamaha BANSHEE is the holy grail of ATVs for some people)

I didn't have enough money so i was going to sell my entire card collection at the last minute. But i got cold feet and backed out.

Today, i still have my scrambler and it still runs fine. I put some money into it but it's still a beast.

I am so glad i didn't sell my cards for a BANSHEE.

Some great discussion and info here so far.

I can post a list, but I need to figure out how to get it from Libre Office into something I can put here.

I don't have anything super rare or even a fleer rookie. I have a rookie sticker and a lot of other 90s inserts. Not a jambalaya or anything rare like that.

As far as the karting goes, I will buy 3 used karts that I would be able to sell for the same within a reasonable time. I'm just looking for a way to build memories with my boys before they are too old. I don't think I will regret it even if the Jordan collection is worth 10x in 10 years.

I'm still thinking hard about all of this. Maybe I keep my 5 or 6 most valuable cards. I think they might be half the value of my collection though... I guess I need to post my list.

I was going to post a list of what I had to aid in the discussion of whether I should keep some of my top cards or what...

Sorry if I broke a rule; please let me know and I can edit my previous posts.

Thanks

Key words; "build memories with my boys". That's important and enough said.

Just make sure your expectations are set correctly and make sure you know the average prices for the cards so you don't get hosed....

Thanks man, that's what I was thinking. They'll only be living with me a few short years then they'll be out starting their own families.

I'd be interested in some if you decide to sell. Feel free to shoot me a PM with a list and pricing.

I do have a Scrambler too. A 500 4X4. I'm doing 2-300km per year. Not the most modern ATV, but I leave it at my wood shack, and when I need it, it is there!

Not to get off topic- but i just snapped the handlebars. As in broke completely off of the steering shaft. Plus, i managed to submerge it completely in a mud hole (about 4 foot deep) which disconnected the cooling fan. It needs a lot of work so it's getting fixed right now.

The bill is going to be at least 1400. But, what the hell, i get out one or two times a year to smell the gas fumes and i ride hard.

It still brings me a lot of pleasure.

I copy and paste lists on here from Libre Office all the time. It works fine.

I also would be interested in the entire collection. Whatever you decide please let us at least see the list. As I said earlier, you won’t have any issue moving Jordans.

This is 4 columns wide by ~1,500 rows long. The columns get squished together and it is hard to read. I'll figure something out.

I will probably start a for sale thread in a couple of days once I figure out what I'm doing. I might keep my 5-10 favorite cards. If/when I do post them for sale, I'll stick a link in this thread.

Wow; would love to know the story of how it was acquired. All you can find on line is a picture of the one that is listed as "altered".

I know there are some serious collectors here but that's a serious card.

If you have anything above base cards, there's lots of people on IG that buy MJ.
