And I just looked at the checklist....I don't follow NHL prospects outside of the top few picks, but I don't recognize any Young Guns on the checklist other than Lafreniere. Last edited by Davis; 11-11-2020 at 02:35 PM. |

It's hockey so no it won't go crazy. The best case is one of the young guns like Lafreniere goes nuts right out of the gate when the season starts but I wouldn't expect it to go through the roof. The season also won't start for a while after the release so it'll most likely stagnate for a while until we get some results.

besides the aforementioned Vilardi - Foudy, Krebs, Byram, Broberg, McMichael and Kravtsov are all pretty highly regarded for one or several reasons. They're not centerpiece-names, but they're good players. The YG list certainly could've been much worse.

I can't realistically imagine Alexis Lafreniere is the straw that finally pushes the hockey market over the demand-cliff. |

Does e-Pack have sales? The biggest issue with e-Pack I see is the COMC bottleneck if you want to actually have the card in-person. |

Series 2 could be absolutely loaded depending on when it comes out/start of the NHL season

From what I understand getting your ePack cards shipped directly from Upper Deck only takes a couple of weeks. If you move them over to COMC then you will be waiting quite awhile.

with Epack you will wait months for your cards. Send them to COMC and you will pay 25 cents per card and wait weeks for your cards. Unless you pay rush shipping.

With Epack you don’t get physical base though do you. I bought a pack of allure as a test and was only able to transfer the die cuts I hit.

I thought they never put players in the set until they've played an actual NHL game (not including the early early releases of UD). If the season doesn't start til January, I'm guessing they won't have him in a proper game setting and jersey or it'll be a photoshoot/Rangers media photo. That'll be quite different. Different times I guess.

Does Lafreniere have confirmed autos in this? And, if so, do we know yet if they could be redemptions? And do we know if any of his other key cards that are not autos would be redemptions?

I would have thought the same. Looks like the $100 option is sold out now too. Crazy, hopefully you have better luck in Canada at your LCS.

Beckett says there are no redemptions in the product. That being said autos are going to be pretty rare and aren't generally the draw for flagship.

Awesome, thank you! If Lafreniere had his key cards as redemptions, I would have been forced to rip. But now, I think I'll keep the hobby I have coming sealed.

I usually expect to pay about 10% over pre-order price off the shelf at my LCS, but mileage may vary if your local guy is a bigger outlet than i have close-by.
For what’s likely to come out of it $120 for a flagship UD box is kind of absurd. TBH the $80 pre-order price was probably pushing it. 120 is a Lafreniere or bust price on that box...you’ve got almost no chance at ROI without pulling the roughly 1:8 boxes YG in the first place (or some other unicorn at much steeper odds), and that’s assuming the kid carries the expectation when he finally sees the ice. I ultimately don’t think he has the wheels to be a generational guy. Helluva player, but not a guy that should be driving 50% box markups prior to release day. |

$100 should be ceiling on box prices because epack is going to come out at $90 to $100 per box.
