Anyone think that with Mosaic getting into the football game, it may become one of the popular ones? Seems to be the case in basketball.

Mosaic is still behind Prizm, Optic and Select in basketball if not even farther back....Mosaic prices for singles are not as good as those other 3.

Mosaic is weird in basketball. Sealed wax seems to be hot but the cards themselves still are third or fourth fiddle. I think the amount available in retail may play into that - as in the hunt for the product creates demand and want but once it's opened it's not that valuable.

I’d love to see Mosaic raise up the ranks. Those silver holos look stellar, clean, and classy.

For me, I like Prizm because the design places emphasis on the player themselves. It's just a clean, simple photo with a colored border to distinguish the parallels.

I know people draw comparisons between Mosaic and Prizm, but I think Mosaic is way too busy. They crop out the players and have an overly flashy background that distracts from the photography. Plus, the inserts like Touchdown Masters look godawful. Like something a 12 year old makes in Microsoft Paint.

At the end of the day, I think people just want a simple design that has an iconic photo of the player, which is why Prizm, Contenders, and Optic do so well.

Just beautiful.

I agree with this.. I opened a Blaster box of Mosaic basket ball the other day and first pack in, I got a silver Holo zion. Just a clean simple and beautiful card, love those silvers!

Thanks everyone for your input and opinions. Favorite Prizm card I own is it 2012 Russell Wilson autograph that looks to be an absolute gem mint condition but I haven't got off my butt to have it graded or really any other cards graded because I just don't or haven't ever done that.

Hello! I’m new to the board. Just started collecting cards again when the pandemic started. Seems like a cool place to talk about cards!

I have a question for all you guys. What does “NPP” mean?

I was looking at the retail sheet for Prizm Football and saw only hangers for MJH and megas, blasters, etc. for Excell. Then I saw “NPP” Megas and blasters. Just curious if those are probably going to be MJH as well?

Thanks!

Not Pre Priced
No Product Price

Maybe

I just know those dont have a price on them. The Target boxes usually have a price printed on them. The Walmart dont.

Target= Excell
Walmart = MJH

So, the answer is yes. Those NPP boxes will be available to Walmart.

Aaron Rodgers on-card auto - $300-350

DK Metcalf base prizm psa 10 - $400+

I mean Mahomes has changed the game for football cards, but I never thought I'd see the base rookie craze carry from basketball to football. Good luck to anyone dumping huge amounts into common cards of non-QBs

Shoot, in the offseason Drew Lock PSA 10 Prizm's were reaching up to I want to say $500, maybe it wasn't that high but they were $300-$400 range. I think.

Now you are looking at $100.

I also remember thinking before the season I'd get a Dwayne Haskins because I thought, hey his cards should be cheap. $100+ for a PSA 10 Prizm. No thank you.

The only guy in football, recent rookie market, I would put money into is Mahomes still.

I understand the QB prospecting, as I enjoy the gamble as much as the next guy. I just can't wrap my head around the WR/RB stuff. Not complaining though. I'll rip plenty of Prizm this year and gladly take $200 a pop for my Tee Higgins base psa 10s

Prizm retail will be impossible to find in-stores with how all the hobby hype going on. All these people camping out at stores like how people used to camp out for shoes back in the early 2000s. It's gonna be a crazy.

You and me in the same boat. I'm not touching a WR/RB unless he's a lock for the HOF.

I hope Panini prints Prizm in the same bulk that they printed Mosaic because eBay is flooded right now

The silvers in Mosaic hands down look the best out of Prizm, Optic or Select silvers.

I think it is because the majority of the card is regular chrome opposed to photography. They look so stunning.

Hoping the prices go down just a bit further and I would start stocking up just because I like them and if they end up being worth something down the line because its the "first year," added bonus.

man , i hope i can get some of this stuff for a reasonable price... getting back into the hobby after about 15-20 years and man a whole lot has changed. prices being the first lol but i just hope panini can quit this sense pricing. i get they need to maximize profits but come on for the love of the hobby... just seems like they are trying to create more hype out of this year and shoving more and more new styles

I'm in the same boat. I mostly collect baseball, but Herbert's pulled me into football recently. For my money, Optic and Mosaic are the most aesthetically pleasing cards. Prizm is a little bland for me, personally. (Contenders looks cool, but $$$)

Hoping everyone's right about Prizm and Contenders driving the price of Mosaic down, because I'll take all I can get.

It came out at the perfect time - market was starving for a retail chase chromium product and there it was. I don’t dislike mosaic by any means - but it’s not going to beat out the 3 biggest chromium brands anytime soon (prizm, select, optic). Look at how Phoenix is a hot product this year when last year it sat on shelves at, what, $120-150ish? Anything chromium, baby.

Sorry if this is the wrong thread, but anyone have an estimate on when Optic is supposed to hit?

Mosaic is just a spin-off from Prizm. A little brother.
It looks too much like a product that was made from a mash-up of 2016-17 Prizm Basketball and 2017-18 Spectra basketball.
